The weather is terrible today, and it was yesterday, and it looks to be the same for the duration of our general season rifle hunt(5 days

But we decided to make the best of it anyways, its only day two, so I've still got till wednesday to get mine. Burglecutt spotted this buck sneaking away from him over the next ridge. We were all soaked to the bone(undies and all), from rain and snow all morning, and hiking through the schittiest shoulder high brush the rockies have to offer.
He's not a big one obviously, but he took what he was offered.

Here are some pics of the weather, and the scenery, the weather broke for about an hour, and then a blizzard blew in.

Man, I'm getting all excited about our hunt coming up - November 6th - 10th. Hopefully the weather is cold without the rain and winds.

By the way what can is that?

    Great story and photo's!!!

Well, today was the last day, and I wasn't going to let it pass without some blood on my hands. So hows this for a "management buck"? I spent the last three days glassing and hiking around, I hadn't seen one buck until this little guy, so I decided that I was ready to be done.

Here is my shooting position, I spotted them moving up over the ridgeline, I hauled ass up above them and got a good uphill spot. You can see him dead there, in the trees.

It was a good heart shot, he was bedded down looking directly at me, shot entered in the front of the brisket on the inside edge, crossed through the lungs and exited the opposite side.

He sure isn't anything to write home about but he sure will taste good in the pot, and it gave the kids something to get excited about.
