Utah Shootouts
Feb. 13, '10
Practical Rifle +
North Springs Shooting Range
Price, Utah
8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Practice and Rifle Clinic, bring extra ammo for this
10:00 – 2:00 Competition, 50 rnds max
Range is covered with ice and snow, should be a good shoot. Dress warm.
As of Feb 1, The 100 yard range is good (covered with snow, but good). 600 and !000 ranges are limited but still can do some paper and steel. The Law Enforcement range is pretty much froze up. If it thaws out by the 13th we will use the turning and running man targets. There is a lot of handgun steel we could shoot.
If it snows any more, we could shoot prone off the top of the shooting benches.
We will just have to wing it (some say I always do that anyway). We will set up whatever is possible the day before and that morning. Might have more fun than normal. Will post scores of each stage but not add them up. Bring your long range rifle and any other firearms you want, help set up any stage you like out to 1000 yards, shoot which stages you want.
New Plan: We will have a practice session or rifle clinic from 8:30 to 10:00 am, which ever you choose. We can help those who have not shot past a few hundred yards or if you are just new to shooting competitions. There is no extra charge for this. Or you can just practice on your own out to 1000 yds.. 10:00 will be match time.
Just pay your $5 range fee to the range office and sign in when you arrive at the range. When you put your name on the match roster you can donate a few bucks to the ammo can.
