NEXT MATCH:
Will be April 10, 2010. North Springs Shooting Range, Price, Utah. Sign in 8:30. Shooter meeting 9:00. Maximum 40 rounds. $5 to the range office. $5 or $10 to the ammo can. This will help buy paper and steel targets and related items we will be needing.
REORGANIZATION
Many people wanted to continue the matches. So we are reorganizing the way these matches happen. Got people to do most of the work. Much thanks to all those who offered to help, we will need it. Remember all those helping will be able to compete. Will still need a few people each match to help score and spot, it makes the match run a lot better and quicker.
2ND SATURDAY
The second Saturday of each month will be our day for matches at the North Springs Shooting Range.
EQUIPMENT
Will still be limited only by your need to move, required position and how fast you need to engage the target.
MORNING MAIN EVENT
Probably stay with a main event of practical rifle in the mornings. This can include anywhere from about 30 yards to 1000 yards. Semi autos are ok to shoot this main event. Working a bolt action as a single shot may sometimes be a disadvantage (on timed stages). Mostly prone and may or may not include other positions, different barricades, moving, turning, over the cliff edge and whatever else those guys can dream up. Most of the time you can switch rifles during the course of fire. Will not be able to if it stated that way on the match announcement.
SIDE MATCHES
Usually we'll have a semi auto side match, scored separately, in the afternoon. With once in a while a pistol or even a shotgun stage side match. We gotta use that shoot house one of these times.
UTAH STATE SNIPER SHOOT
Plan on a Utah State Sniper Shoot again this year, but looks like it will have to be in the fall. The dutch oven crew says they can do it then. We should get our reorganization of the matches down pretty good by then. I'm thinking, $50 includes dutch oven dinner, T-Shirt or hat, prizes and a hell of a course of fire. We'll see how much help we'll have, that will limit the number of shooters.
NOTE
One more note. Except for the Utah State Sniper Shoot, we can work with shooters that are first time competitors or just need a little help figuring out their dope, etc., etc, before and during the match.
