Those of you who have this scale every time you use it you have to unscrew the auto throw to clear the powder out of it? What a catastrophie I had when I could not shut the auto trickler off powder was everywhere I just started figuring this scale with the app out 20190919_173611.jpg Don't know why I am getting powder stuck on the sides.

No.. you turn the hopper to the closed position. Toggle the auto throw screw up and down manually till the remaining powder in the auto throw housing is empty. Well, make sure you have the cup underneath too. Then remove the hopper off and dump the rest back in your powder container. Very easy.. btw, I put a open and close label on mines.. don’t know if you can see it in this picture..

Is there any serious difference between the V2 and the V3? Other than the look of the hopper housing and Bluetooth? I just got a V2 setup and I can’t help but laugh every time it throws a charge

I ordered and received Adam's V3 for my Fx-120i & AREA 419's Lexan Lid.

Is there any other valuable improvement items to order? I would luvzmesum Pyrex for the hopper.

Thanx to those that know.

In addition to the V3 and Lexan lid: The 419 hopper funnel, powder cup and aluminum tray are worth every penny.. really speeds up the setting of the scale, ease of use and very few jumping kernels.

Wow that is a nice set up. I get to close the hopper and dump the powder out but when I take the hopper off there is powder stuck along the sides of it even after I throw it a few times ?

Just looking at your pic and I see your hopper sits flush on top of the auto throw.maybe I am not pushing it down enough but I don't want to force it.could be my issue

As far as cutting a hole in the plastic. Just line up the thrower feed tube
and mark a dot on it, you can only do it once so get it right.
Use an old piece of brass and cut off the neck, heat it up with a torch(using a pair of pliers to hold it)
or something similar and push it against the plastic and it will melt a nice clean hole.

I don't tnink I will be trying that

Or, you cover the plastic with masking tape on both sides, and chuck it into a mill and use an end mill to cut a slot (1/2" end mill worked the best) up/down to allow the trickler some room to pivot based on the powder being used.

Just received my V3 upgrade kit today and noticed the same as your pic in the OP. Had a few kernels of Retumbo in the space between the male hexagon the hopper slips over and the outer hexagon.

Guessing it's a tolerance issue allowing a void between the male hexagon on the Autothrow and the female hexagon on the hopper assembly.

The A419 hopper was too tight, but I might try taking a bit of material off the Autothrow male hexagon until it fits and see if that alleviates the issue as I can't see a way to make the Autothrow parts fit better and keep the powder from getting in there.

you explained it better then me hopefully we can find a fix for this because I have to unscrew the auto throw everytime I use this to get the powder out. Thanks
