Don’t know much about the guy personally but he was one of the best actors of his era and passed away today. Was on his game in the movie Heat.

I remember the first time I saw Heat during the shootout scene that mag reload felt authentic and very real like he was fighting for his life.

    The infamous mag reload scene.

He had throat or neck cancer and health issues for years…. Bummer, he was a great actor who many of us “grew up” with!

So many great roles!! From Iceman to The Saint to Jim Morrison… to John Henry Patterson and my favorite… Nick Rivers!

You made it to the tall corn, Spartan!

“You’ve had your whole life to prepare for this. Why aren’t you ready”

That line has always stuck with me. It’s from Spartan. Lesser known but it’s a great one.

Among his best… he was fantastic and Mamet captured the whole feel of the plot and the operators brilliantly!

    RIP Iceman 😞

My daughter got a Val Kilmer print of Jim Morrison Lizard King for Christmas.
It just went up in value. 😞

Val Kilmer was on Letterman one night and I was surprised how small he was, almost nerdy, his demeanor unpretentious and almost shy.

It was hard to imagine how he transformed himself onscreen into the characters he played. He studied and completetly immersed himself, becoming the character.

He was a true pro, dedicated to his craft. The fact the military used his mag change in HEAT as a training video is testament to that.

Unlike Jack Nicholson. Jack just be Jack in every movie! Lol

And then I find out after all these years, he didn’t say “Huckleberry” but “Huckle beaer” the old school saying for pallbearer. (Casket carrier) That makes more sense he’d say that over berry. But fuck it! Lol
I'll be your "Huckleberry" is like some misquote I would make as a small kid that my family would find hilarious and use from then on.

Its because the handle on a casket was called a Huckle

    From another source:
    • Doc Holliday's "I'm your huckleberry" line means "I'm the one you want" in Tombstone.
    • The term "huckleberry" was misinterpreted as "huckle bearer" leading to confusion among some viewers.
    • Val Kilmer named his memoir "I'm Your Huckleberry" after his iconic line in Tombstone.

    MadMartigan!!
