Val Kilmer - The mag reload scene -RIP

00 Huckleberry.jpg

In books from the late 1800's you can find the use of "I'm your huckleberry".... I think the huckle bearer story is internet lore that is being repeated so much that it will become the official view. Either way- made some great movies. Growing up we watched Willow all the time-RIP

Liked him in the Top Gun films, really liked him in Heat and of course Tombstone…even more so in The Saint, but honestly my favorite role of his was in Real Genius. We still quote his lines from that flick in our house!

Blue Skies Ice…

I agree; tombstone and top gun, but for me, it was real genius. RIP Chris Night, you will be sorely missed.

Deniro did the same, right? Cant wait to see those comments when he kicks the bucket. Will they be so kind?

Can't speak for others, but my comments will be nothing but kind when De Niro's number is up. I couldn't care less how he feels about Trump or politics as a whole, all I care about and respect is what he's brought to the entertainment world. Same for when Al Pacino's number is up as well.

Kilmer's role in the Ghost and the Darkness was overshadowed by Michael Douglas which was overplayed and downright corny, especially when he went all Zulu and danced with the natives.

Thats one hero whom I was glad was whacked by the bald lions.
I really liked that movie. Thought Val was great. Yes, Douglas took his role over the top. His death did fit in with the story line and to some degree of motivation/revenge for Val character.
Side note for those that may not know, but the actual lions of Tsavo are on display at the Chicago Museum of History. Been there and have seen them.

I never figured out if Chris (Kilmer) in Heat took his wife played by Ashley Judd when he slipped out of L.A. at the end or he left alone, following Neil's strict discipline of walking away when you feel the heat. That explains the title of the movie, btw.

I thought Jon Voight was also good in that movie, espesially when he told Neil of Chris's departure; "It's a free country, brother." I wish I were that low key and cool.
