As far as Frank goes or anyone else for that matter I'm absolutely not afraid to have an intelligent discussion with them as long as he sticks to the subject and brings something to the table besides he said she said stuff .
Now I did say at the beginning of this thread that I actually talked to Val on the phone. And I did say that he seemed like a nice guy and was concerned about me getting the correct scope for what I was trying to accomplish. But that's all I ever said about Val. Everything else I said was about the scope I was interested in. Just read back on this post and you will find not many people actually answered any questions all they did was misdirect. There wasn't many valid counter arguments in this entire thread. In fact there was a couple of jackalopes on here trying to Pawn off a review on a completely different scope. This thread was never about a guy's character it was about an optic and that's all. You guys have a unnatural dislike for the guy that makes them. I personally don't really care who makes them. I don't care about the warranty they have. I don't care about the customer service. Because I never plan on buying one. I'm just saying the scope that I tried out performed exactly as it should have that's all.
Now if I was purchasing this scope I would care about all those things and they would be valid arguments against buying this optic.

You actually counted how many post there were? Do you know how that sounds? Have you examined any of the post? How many of the gentleman on this post started a conversation by calling me names?

OK, as far as the scope. I have never owned one, never touched one and never will. It's kind of like looking at product reviews on Amazon. If there are a high percentage of bad reviews, I don't buy the product. You don't seem to be able to grasp that concept, when the vast majority of the buying public does. Another hint; In that case, it's not their problem, it's yours.
I'll say it again. After approximately 600 posts on this winner of a thread, you still don't get it. The scope is a piece of shit and there's a long history of customers not being taken care of/getting screwed. If you were reading reviews of a product on Amazon and the majority of them were bad, would you still buy the product ? Particularly if there were other options that were better reviewed ?

Actually your questions have been answered MANY, MANY times. Here, let me summarize for you:
-IOR has good glass
-IOR has a known track record of tracking issues
-The Gen2 is actually made in Japan
-The Gen2 might be a decent scope after years of documented successful use
-Nobody here is gonna waste their hard earned money on a turd like this... WHY? For all the reasons you refuse to consider. Even though it’s more information than you asked for, the good members here are trying to have your best interest in mind.
-We are all bored and tired of this election shit so this thread is getting WAY more attention than it deserves.

Yes, in that context, I agree with you.
But.....I think you should take it at face value that many of the responders to your original question either had direct personal (bad) experience, or that they knew people that did. Bad reputations do not generally materialize out of thin air. They usually are a result of just what you had been told by many people. Poor design, materials, construction, warranty and customer service are what kills a product, sometimes only one of those factors delivers the Coup de grâce.
Another observation; Sometimes I'm a little embarrassed when someone posts, asking a legitimate question and gets pigpiled. However, my sympathy begins to quickly wane when the OP refuses to listen and continues to fight. Particularly when the overwhelming majority of respondants have nothing good to say about the product. Sometimes, Hide Members get zero style points for their Counsel, but I have never, ever seen an instance where any member ever intentionally tried to steer anyone wrong. For every post slamming you, there was an underlying message, trying to help you, trying to wave you off making a bad purchase. In those cases, like I said, zero style points awarded. That doesn't mean the message was wrong though.
This thread had so much misinformation I felt I should join and straiten a few things out. I would like to be up front here and say I have no affiliation with any of the companies. I have however used and owned IOR scopes and whilst I do not own a Valdada G2 I have looked through them and had a quick play with them.

They make everything from microscopes to industrial optic systems. One of the biggest confusion is the relationship between IOR and Valdada, so lets set this strait. Valdada is a completely separate company run by completely different people. Valdada just happen to import products made buy IOR to the US.
The Valdada G2 Recon has absolutely no connection with IOR or the similarly named Recon and Recon Mk2 aka Gen 2 scopes from IOR. The Valdada G2 Recon is actually made by Light Optics Works in Japan. They are a OEM manufacturers that makes most of the high end Japanese made scopes.

That was a stronger reaction than I expected. I can see there is genuine hate here but am interested to know why. given it appears to cover multiple models and brands I am guessing it's more a hate for Valdada than a specific product. Bad customer service perhaps? Shoddy business practices maybe?
