Varget 308, AR-10

I generally load 43.3gr Varget in a Lapua case, with SMK 175 loaded to 2.800”
But now I’m wanting to load for a POF w 16” bbl 1-10 twist. Gonna drop back to 40.5 gr Varget and seat bullets to 2.770 for xtra clearance in mags
With the 16” bbl and stealing gas, what is reasonable velocity expectations? Dont see me ever taking this rig past 400yds anyways. Thanks!!

Thats pretty much the load I've used in all my AR10s and M1As. Just make sure to size the brass properly or you'll get stuck cases.

It's hard to get a 16" .308WIN to shoot 175s faster than 2550 fps, from my experience.

I’m getting 2500 with 42.5 Varget and 185 Juggs 18” Proof. FGMM brass.

I think I will save my 175’s for the bolt guns. I hav big bx 168’s. I’ll just load those up for the POF
