Ok so I'm getting my loads ready for me new .260 and I have 8lbs of varget and 8 lbs oh1000. I know that pretty much everyone uses 4350 with the 260 but I have these powders and it is next to impossible to get 4350 which one would you guys use of the two and does anybody have any data they would like to share. I'm going to be shooting the 140 grn Amax in lapau brass and 210 primers. Thanks.

Just mix um together and you will have a powder in the H4350/H4831 burn rate.. JK of course, DO NOT DO WHAT I SAID ABOVE!! I AM NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY MIXING POWDERS! If you have a really short barrel, Varget, if you have a longer barrel, H1000.
If by 260 you mean 260 Remington----I don't shoot 260, so I don't know the most common rounds----I would be using the Varget---by my calculations, you can get better percentage of powder burned(100%) in the 26" barrel, while getting better velocities than the H1000 (with the 1000, you overfill by 10% before you really get within 100FPS of the Varget, and your burn percentage is under 95%, which leads to inconsistent results with the H1000.

Hello, I am new here but have extensive experience with the 260. The best powder I have found for the 260 is H4831sc. It is basically made for it as it has a load listed right on the bottle and is the best powder I have found for it. I shoot the 140 VLD at 2865 FPS using 45.2 grains and they are one holers at 100 and out to 1000 I have shot a 4 inch group of 5 with it. I tried using varget at first and saw high pressure signs using a similar load to what I just described with H4831sc. If you get the chance to use H4831sc do it. Just my $.02

I just got another 2lbs today for 23.00/lbs... wait for some it will be worth it, especially with the 139's or 140's.
