Varmint trigger for AR-15

I have a couple of the RRA NM triggers, and they are good for a hunting rig. I've noticed that DSG, and PSA have came out with what is essentially the same, but I have no experience with them.

All I have on my four ARs are Triggertech triggers. Two Adaptable, one Diamond, and one Competitive.

Prefer the flat trigger shoes, but don't feel a need to sell the two I bought with curved shoes.

Larue if you are looking for best trigger for the value. Geissele are an upgrade over the Larue, but for for 2-3x what you would pay for the Larue. Trigger Tech Diamond if you are looking for the best trigger overall, but also the most expensive of the lot. Ultimately the question is what will your budget bear?

To each his own . In my experience for precision shooting with an AR the diamond is my go to . Shooting it side by side with my other triggers/AR gold etc... , I seam to shoot more consistently with the triggertech. I just use what works for me.
Everyone likes something different.

It's not as widely accepted (and is still pretty new), but I've been really happy with the Rise Armament 434 trigger in one of my varmint guns lately. It's not a benchrest trigger of course, but is a nice balance of a useable but reasonably light and crisp single stage without being too expensive. I have one of their base model triggers as well, and it's pretty decent but the RA-434 is definitely better.

I have the RRA NM mentioned above as well and it's a decent trigger, but I don't care for the relatively slow and light reset. I put the Varmint return spring in mine and like that better.

I went with the adaptable over the diamond only because I didn't need to go any lower than 2.5lbs in my AR platforms. The diamond can go as low as 1.5lbs. I prefer the feel of the break in the adaptable over the diamond as well. All my bolt action rifles have the diamond though.

I need to try the Triggertech AR triggers. I have two of their Remington 700 style triggers (a Special and a Diamond) that are very nice for the price.

In the AR, I have CMC, RRA, SR Gold, Rise, Larue and Elftmann triggers along with a few 15 minute trigger job LPK triggers.

To me, the 15 minute trigger job has its place but for accuracy, a drop in match trigger is nice. The RRA is my least favorite. For similar money, get a Larue. The ($72) Rise seems just as good as my old CMC trigger but it was about $60 less so it's another good deal. The Elftmann is really nice but it's probably close to $200 new (I bought used). The SR Gold is nice but I don't think it feels as consistent as I would like and it was expensive.

In my opinion, if you get something as good as a Larue or a Rise, it won't hold you back and you're not going to get much better unless you spend a lot more.

The RR NM is fine for hunting. I used one for many years and can't say I ever missed a shot because of it. However, if price is no object, get the TT Diamond. I just put one in my AR10 and it's sweet! I also have an AR with a Giessle high speed. Nice trigger, but I think the TT is much better.

In my opinion, no need to spend big $$ on a trigger for a hunting rig. But, if you also use it for precision shooting, the TT is the way to go.

I'm going to try a TT diamond today. If it's a "new world" compared to my G-SSAE or NM I'll be pleasantly surprised. The Geissele is tough to beat for a field proven trigger. Smooth and crisp with a positive reset - about perfect for a duty and/or precision AR. JMHO
