Venom vs strike eagle

I would think it would come down to if you want first or second focal plane with those two options. The 4-24 strike eagle (unlike the 5-25 strike eagle) appears to be second focal plane. For me that would be a deal breaker in that magnification range. It also appears to only be available in MOA if that matters to you or not.

There’s a reason the sfp Strike Eagles were discontinued. Between those two the Venom but even it isn’t all that great clarity wise. I would step up to the Strike Eagle 5-25 as the minimum.

You stuck on Vortex or open to others?

If it’s the same glass that the 5-25 strike eagle has then it’s pretty decent. I have one of the 5-25’s and like it allot. I would personally pick a 5-25 strike eagle over either of those but that’s just me.

Tried different brands vortex is what works for me but open to suggestions but budget only allows $500 to 700

Vortex strike eagle 4-24x50 for $300 or venom 5x25x56 for $400 which one is the best bench shooting out to 500 yd
Spend a bit more and get a scope that blows them both away optically... I've had a Strike Eagle, and got rid of it. This scope's glass is far superior to the Strike Eagle, which is already superior to the Venom...

We have a whole thread going on about them already...

OK one question and this big for me, how forgiving is the eyebox? Got a athlon midas tac with the worst eyebox ever it's in my cabinet as emergency back up
On the 5-25 strike eagle it’s pretty good. Better than on the gen 1 PST’s I have. Nice large ocular lens to look through.

The glass quality isn’t as good as the PST’s, but the eyebox is better.
