i just bought a rifle from Atlantic firearms. It is a 7.62x54r chambered vepr. question is what shoud i put on it for a scope i was thinking about a posp 4-12 with svd style rang finder but herd they have very bad at not holding zero when the zoom is changed. can any one give me a better option or will the posp be ok. If not any one have any suggestions my goal is to shoot from 100 to 1000 yards, spend less than 450 bucks and planing to side mount

C4, I also have a VEPR in same caliber. I put a Midwest Industries side mount on it (MI-AKSM) and put a Primary Arms 1-4 scope on it. The scope holds zero, even with the decent recoil of the 54R VEPR. They also make a 4-14 FFP scope if you want it to "hold zero" through all magnification ranges, and that scope is a good price at $230 (you could always go the SWFA SS route).

I will say however that the turret on the scope has taken a beating from the VEPR throwing steel-case shells into it; I need to fashion a deflector of sorts to remedy this.
