Wasn't expecting it so quick. I will know how it shoots tomorrow. There might be some breaking-in involved though. The bore is just gorgeous. Almost hate to shoot it. Not! It's 23 inches long. The CZ 24-inch barrel that came with the rifle is very accurate but it wont shoot 40gr rounds. This one has a slightly faster twist so that might help. The new Lilja barrel is also a LOT heavier so the rifle is now well balanced.

All the best,

Very odd about not shooting 40gr rounds, what barrel did you have on it?
It's a .22 WMR. The original CZ barrel is 24-inches, very tapered (CZ American). It shoots 30 grainers extremely well. Best group ever was a 3-shot .18 MOA at 100 yards. 40gr rounds average 1.5 MOA at 100.

I got to test the new barrel this morning. Bottom line it's a great one, especially after it gets some more rounds through it. I cleaned it after the first five rounds and there was some copper. After 10 more rounds it was gone.

What really surprised me was how far off the zero was from the factory barrel. I could not find the first shot! I looked more closely and it was right on the edge of the paper. I walked it back to zero - it was of .8 mils left and .6 mils high at 100 yards. That's a lot! So I tested the scope just in case. It was right on the money. My Vortex Strike Eagle tracks extremely well. < .1mil error.

I created a target in PS that combines Zero and Scope Test on one 11x17 sheet. It's all in mils. It has two crosses in the middle and 4 - .5mil targets 1 in each corner. It also has a red colored grid background made up of .1mil squares. The four corner targets separations are exactly 3.6mils vertically and 1.8 mils horizontally. Makes everything a breeze. Here's the target - I can make a pdf for download if anyone wants one:

And here are some results. This first was during zeroing. I got a good zero, stopped to clean the barrel and the wind came up from the left. I didn't correct because I know the zero is good and so I dumped 8 rounds on the target with the same POA:

Finally I dumped 5-rounds into one of the corner targets:

I am very impressed with the barrel. I believe with more shots through it I'll get even better groups. It is a lot more consistent than the original.

What type of 22wmr ammo are you using.
I've tried them all and so far the 30-35 grain ammo shows to be the most accurate. The most accurate of all is the CCI 30gr VMAX. It uses the Hornady 30gr VMAX bullet, interestingly they cite different BCs in their online pages (.116 CCI, .095 Hornady). The Hornady VMAX is a close second though.

A third accurate round was the CCI A22 35gr soft point. I said was because I got a box post COVID and it's quite bad. Rounds go everywhere. Very disappointing because I bought 600 rounds of the stuff later. Hopefully this last purchase will bring the accuracy back - its a different batch number....
