Hi all from Australia, looking for a change from my current Tikka T1x UPR for factory class PRS22 and NRL22 matches. I would prefer a competitive complete production rifle and have been seriously considering Victrix Smallbore Pro, seen a couple reviews from Xring and others but not heaps of info.

Any reason I should not consider this rifle? All reports are that it functions reliably and shoots accurate.

Any other rifles to consider? MPA (vudoo) was a consideration but next to impossible to get in Australia. And Anschutz in ATX is USA only option, can't buy it over here.

Only reason lookong for change from Tikka is balance, it is rear heavy and for certain classes (IPRF) you cant run weights so something that balances and is reliable. Tikka runs beautifully and I dont need to upgrade, it is a want. I don't want to build a rifle, I want a factory rifle to pickup and compete.

Any info for or against is appreciated.

I have a question about using the Victrix for “factory class.” Can’t be sure about Australian rules, but in the United States, factory or production classes are limited to $1500 total including rifle and optic. The only Victrix I could find for sale was almost $4000.00 for the bare rifle alone. If I am not mistaken, that makes it far above the cost of either PRS or NRL production costs. Forgive me if Australia has a factory class that is not equivalent to “production.”

I've run through this a few times recently and the options aren't great.

I'm in NZ, Vudoo/RimX aren't impossible to get but they are very expensive.

As you probably can imagine the key is to find the longest, heaviest barrel possible.
There's a new CZ457 model called "Range" which has a 24" heavy barrel.

There is also the Anschutz 1761 APR with a heavy 26" barrel. I'm guessing most other PRS Anschutz models are US only.

Sako Quad has a 22" varmint barrel option.
I wish Tikka would use this barrel for the T1x UPR, or some other 20-24" heavy barrel.

I’ve played with one. Here in Canucastan it’s almost the same price as a custom. If it is cheaper for you it looks to be a good performer.
Apparently in some organizations there is a “factory rifle” class that is not based on cost, but instead on what you can buy from the manufacturer complete.

NRL22 has a price cap for base class (based on Aus $$) whereas PRS22 production division does not. Must be from a single mainstream manufacturer etc etc, no $$ limit.

My Tikka UPR already falls into open for NRL based on $$ with optics, but even as factory rifle it didn't stop me using it in open to take last seasons championship win.

Looking to IPRF next year you cannot add internal/external weights, which means with a tuner, muzzle brake and bipod attached i can "just" achieve a balance point for on a bag. Hopefully competing in Factory division i was looking to something like the Victrix with a longer heavier barrel that will balance.

Yeah mate, same deal here. We can get actions but then it's which trigger and sear works with what and then what other parts for build, etc.

I enjoy shooting for what it is and for my level of competence a factory rifle does better or as good as I can. And I don't have to worry about is my setup going to be reliable.

I have seen photos of the Anschutz APR, maybe I should look into it more.

And big yes about Tikka needing a longer heavy barrel for practical shooting sports, but I think they screwed themselves with action design only accepting 0.9" Max. I would get one in instantly though.

My current setup for reference. This meets PRS22 production rules, rifle meets NRL22 base class but $$ of optic push me to open. As it sits it meets IPRF Factory division.

I don't need to change, but for balance etc on a stage I would like to change

It looks like Anschutz (not USA) do a 1710 APR also with an MDT ACC chassis, only a 20" barrel though.
If you aren't allowed to use weights I'm guessing it wont balance great, the 1761 APR would likely be a better option.

I've imported 3 Vudoos, a Rim X & a Cooper Custom Classic through Danny Ryan in Bendigo - All turn key packages & ready to go - There is a draw back though - Going this route is time consuming and expensive. Darryl Lenkic from Meplat in Adelaide has brought me in a finished pre fit for the Rim X.

Earlier this year, I contacted Beretta Australia re the availability of a Venus Pro - Was advised 2025 delivery date & would expect the price of a bare rifle over A$7K.

May be worth checking with NIOA to see if they have an Anschutz 1761 APR with the 25" barrel - I had a build done on a 1761 when they were first released - Easily competitive with any of the above though for your intended purpose, I'd be looking at a 700 foot print.
