Been on the hunt for an older vintage Japanese made spotting scope, I've been pretty stingy so I have passed up a few Bushnell spacemasters that I should have thrown a few more bucks at. Don't judge... it fits the theme with many of my bolt guns, most are old enough to be drilled and tapped for iron sights.

Anyways, I see this older simmons model 1210 on ebay right now (https://www.ebay.com/itm/165122422267), and it looks a spitting image of the older Japanese scopes typical of the 70s. It almost looks like it could take the same 34mmx1.0mm eye pieces that bushnell uses. But I simply cannot find a single reference on these scopes. Has anyone heard of them? I have never trusted simmons at all, but if this was made in the same factories as the bushnell spacemaster and sentry, it might be a decent snag.

I was totally unaware that there was a market for vintage spotting scopes! I'm pretty sure I have some old Bushnell and Bausch and Lomb gathering dust.

Japanese glass tends to run in the $150-250 range on ebay with considerable bid wars in the last hour.

That's kind of why I am eye balling this simmons, I'm hoping the name keeps the bids down.
