I think this would qualify as vintage. And vintage sniper.
I built my Mauser ,mod 98 about 20 years ago with a With a With a Shilen heavy Sporter bbl in 30/06 ,great shooter wish there was a range to stretch it out on near me but it does tiny groups at 100 yds. I bought the action at Bob's gun exchange in Goshen NY,now sadly gone,it has an unknown pedigree having been customized and sporterized before I saw it it could have been almost anything but probably commercial the only Waffenamps a Nazi eagle on the mag follower .It is a vintage action,and a vintage caliber ( to me just as viable today as ever though!)I built it as a long range rifle thus the heavy barrel, but not too heavy for deer hunting for a sturdy fellow .the real vintage is a Weaver V 8 scope,probably only a temporary temporary guest ,but vintage! I want to try it just for awhile .I am sure it would have been a snipers dream in some forgotten war of the 50's. It really shines with a Varmint scope on it,however blued steel is SO Chic! It also has two fitted stocks,one is its normal Sporter stock,plain,solid black walnut,pulled out of a scrap stock box at Numrich when they were a better more open friendly company ,also gone,almost. The other one is a Birdseye maple stock I designed for target shooting,it works well and fits well but not a stock makers stock ,obviouslyBut ,it shoots really well ,just thought I would share.
