OK guys, just curious as if anyone has attempted this combination yet... I have a Volquartsen TF-17 in route(being built), and just also purchased a SWR Spectre II suppressor for my rimfire rifles( i did not intianlly purchase these to pair)...
Obviously i wont see the suppressor for the next 8-10 months but i'm curious as if anyone has suppressed on of these rifles and if it functioned/cycled properly. Yes i know i should call Volquartsen and i will get around to it one day soon.. just curious if anyone attempted this and achieved decent results??? Thanks in advance

Re: Volqurasten TF-17, Suppressed.

If you have a choice, have them thread the barrel to a standard 1/2"X 28 TPI or whatever your can is going to come in. I bought my VQ 17 off the shelf and VQ has their own thread pitch for their muzzle brake. They do sell a thread adapter though...I'm waiting on mine now.

I've heard a 17HMR bolt gun shot suppressed and it was significantly quieter than a long barreled 22lr. I'm sure the bolt will make some noise, but I think you will be happy.

Well mine is a 17 in the Superlight configuration, I run a AWC Valkyrie .22 cal can. No issues yet, the rifle feeds and functions as advertised. The bbl is 16" long and carbon fiber. Here's a pic with the can on.
As mentioned, they will thread the bbl 1/2"x28 for you. I believe thats the way to go.

Re: Volqurasten TF-17, Suppressed.

Well, i called Volquartsen.. They "dont thread" the TF's.. and they wouldn't thread mine before it shipped..... I probably should have ordered it a little more custom but i had not intended for this rifle to run suppressed... good news is, ill have it threaded here in the swamp once i receive it...I have plenty of time to await the infamous ATF form paperwork....Thanks for the replies
