I saw on swfa that the vortex crossfire is on sale for a hundred dollars. Are they worth it or should I just stick with my bushnell elite 3200 10x40? I like haveing a variable power, and I have heard good things about the vortex line. Does it have finger adjustable target knobs on it, I cannot find a good description of the scope. It will be going on my new FN Patrol .308 it has a rail I already have medium rings, Do yall think they will work on a 50mm bell?

any help would be nice
Thanks,
Raider

I bought a couple of them and for the money they are hard to beat, glass is clear to the edge even at max power, the reticle is sharp. The turrents could stand to be a little stiffer.

The only reason I haven't bought one is that they only have 25 moa of adjustment. Or at least that's what I've read from the specs at several places.

The scopes have more than the mentioned MOA.

Pictured below are pictures through the scope on a boresighter.

One picture is of the elevation bottomed out, the other picture the elevation bottomed out in the opposite direction.

As you can see the reticle moves across almost 16 full 4" grids and runs off the grid a total of 32 clicks. The scope clicks into the 16th square a total of 8 clicks. With each square being 4 inches and the scope having 1/4MOA of adjustment (.25”) this gives us a total click value of 280.

280 x .25 = 70moa

The scope does have a total of 332 clicks although. There are 52 unusable clicks this scope has. After the scope clicked 8 times into the 16th square it was able to click another 52 times without the reticle actually moving.

Thanks,
Brady

I picked one up from SWFA and I must say for the money they are hard to beat. Clear glass and the target knobs are not so bad.
They are not as stiff as say a nightforce but for the setup at only $100 I would like to see anything close that compares.

Ok nice that's good to hear about the actual moa travel.
I was going to go with the newer 30mm tube model but I think I'll give this one a try.

I's going on a Savage MkII with a 20moa(I think) base and medium Burris Signature rings. I have a 2.5-10x42 Tasco Varminter on it now but looking for a little more magnification.

That scope is about 1/4" from the barrell but the objective diameter is large for the lense size.

I think the Vortex should fit?
