Rifle Scopes Vortex HS-T and PST Questions

I have looked this up and still not sure of the answer. Does the HS-T have a wire or etched reticle?

If the 4-16x44 HS-T and the 4-16x50 PST suppose to have the same quality of glass then how can they not have the same type reticle? If they have the same glass then is the only difference between the two is the illumination?

I just do not understand the price difference between the HS-T and the 4-16x50 PST.

Like said, the HS-T has a wire reticle, the PST is etched. Really the only other difference is the fact that the PS-T is illuminated, whereas the HS-T is not.

I believe the PST is first or second focal plane where the HS-T is Second focal plane only... Not sure if that changes anything with the retical design.

The HST 4-16x is good kit, I've got two of them and have been very pleased.

If I do not anticipate the need for the PST illumination and considering the differences between the two scopes which one to buy? I think real world the difference between the two scopes is about $150.

Do I just save that $150 and send the scope back to Vortex if I have any trouble with the wire reticle?

You won't have issues with a wire reticle.

But yeah, if you do, utilize Vortex's excellent warranty...just like you would if you had issues with a PST.
