I have a change to get a gen 1 razor for a good deal. Also have a chance to get the new toric ultra hd that uses Schott glass. Just trying to figure out which one is best. The toric looks awesome but in a 30mm tube but has 10mil turrets there big. Spoke with the owner today and I liked those guys. But the razor is proven. I’m torn I need help!!

I had the same concerns as you prior to buying the gen 1 razor. I was particularly interested in it's internal adjustment range. I ended up taking a chance and can say I'm glad I did. I have mine mounted on a savage 112 338 lapua and I'm able to spot my own impacts.
I think some of the reports about it having a tight eyebox are from the earlier versions. At some point after release vortex redesigned the eyepiece (along with channge the turret from 5mil to 10mil).

I had a 5 mil/rev model that had the newer less fussy eyepiece. Only really old units have the original finicky eyepiece.
