Guys, please school me on this as I'm not familiar with the gen 2. I run an AT and thought about adding a razor, but it appears if I want to change barrels and reset my zero, I'd have to use the infinite zero "L-Tec" system to do so. I feel this could take more time than necessary if this is the case.

I don't have a Razor G2 but I own a Razor AMG with the same L-Tec zero stop. It's true that it takes more time for zeroing, you need to take caps off and loose the three Allen screws then insert another screwdriver in the center screw for moving the the turrets up/down and left/right , when finished you need to tight the three Allen screws again and put the caps back.

I have one on my switch barrel and it's an easy swap. You use one tool which comes with the scope. You can just have the amount needed to adjust for each barrel logged and then move the center L Tec knob to where it should be and tighten up the allens. You could actually mark the center dial if you wanted.

It's not as easy as a toolless zero but it's still a no-brained using the Vortex supplied tool. I certainly would not let it dissuade me from buying that very fine scope and it's a heck of a lot easier than many otherwise nice scopes out there.

I can answer this qestion for you. I have a HS Take down system in 308 and 300 mag. I bought the gen 2 last year. What I do is just sight in for my 300 Mag at 100 yds useing 180 bullets at 3000fps . Then I shoot my 308 uesing 168 smk at 100yds at 2700fps to find my zero uesing my ballistic app. My 308 is zeroed at 385 yds thats 7 moa high in my scope. Since the gen 2 is a frist focal plan is works well. If I had to shoot at shorter ranges i use the reticle in the scope for those ranges under 385 yds.For longer ranges I use the dials. For the windage I find out my zero for my 300 mag then shoot my 308 to find the difference in between them. I make a note on my range cards the difference. It is 3 moa difference in windage. I set it, then lock the turrets and just ues the reticle in side the scope for the wind correction. I have Zero shift between barrel swaps. Hope that helps you.

I'm about to go down this road myself. I just bought a Barret MRAD. Excited the try the new quick detach Spuhr mount should be here monday. Now I just have to buy some barrel conversion and off to the race I go!! I see a lot of homework in my future.

Thanks for the help guys. I just picked up a Minox ZP5 to try and the zero set/stop on those is very quick and easy. There is just some really good deals to be had right now on the PX and this is making me want to pull the trigger on a razor gen2

I have an AIAT with the Razor HD Gen2 on top and shoot several different calibers. It is very easy to change the zero when swapping the barrels. Another option is to leave the scope zeroed to the barrel you'll use the most and log in your data book where the other barrels shoot. If you do that method I highly recommend the TRASOL ballistics app because you can program the zero settings for the other barrels into the app instead of tracking down notes or getting lost in the turrets. It make dialing a whole lot easier. Eventually you'll get lazy or tired of it all and just leave one barrel on all the time lol

I have an S&B 5-25 on my AT but the principal is the same. I mostly use the 260 barrel and keep tract of the different zeros on the 308, 6.5 Creedmoor and 243 barrels. Even if I forgot my data, the point of aim on all four barrels is close enough to one another to get me on paper at 100 yards using a sighting target if I aim at the center. Ray

I have a DTA and I had a gen 2 now I have an AMG. What I did was zero my rifle with my .308, then just record the change for my 300WM and use the turrets. I did however just pick up a March 3-24x52 and the zero set on that thing is super easy, can be done with a coin, or the vortex tool, or anything that fits in the slot really.

Covert is as Covert does.

Plenty of good feedback on the scout site.
