Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor HD 35mm 5-20x50 - recommend rings or Larue QD mount ?

As the title states..going to be picking up the Vortex in a week or so and trying to decide to use just rings or a QD mount...searched for quiet a bit but with 35mm, I didn't see much info. It's going on top of a FN SPR A5M that has a 20 moa base. Don't plan on taking it off that often but when I do, it would be convenient for it to be on a QD mount. Would like to be able and also attach a level and cosine, but with certain rings/mounts I wonder if it narrows down the options. Look forward to recommendations..thanks.

Don't put a QD mount on a precision rifle. It's going to be too high. Get a set of the Vortex rings made by Seekins Precision and you will be all set.

Yeah..I've been heavily leaning towards the rings...just like the convenience of QD...thanks for the response.

Get a torque wrench and it's easy to take the scope off and on and you know it will be properly torqued on when you use it.

Changing a scope from one rifle to another is easy that way. If you don't plan on switching it between rifles then there's no reason to take it off. Leave it on so you don't have to rezero.

Looking at getting a Borka kit just for that..I have a NF F1 that I'm going to throw on my LWRC REPR..still need to order the 158 mount for that.

I got the precision matched rings from Vortex on my SR25 EMR. I'm going to end up doing a one piece base for better eye relief but the Vortex rings are very nice. I'm not doing a rifle swap like you are but the option of swapping a Razor is worth the trouble of using a non-qd setup as far as I would be concerned.

You can always just get a 20 MOA riser and drop the NF on that. Will save you some money and works very well. I have my GAP-10 set up like that.

I like that idea very much...didn't consider that before..and I could use the NF rings that came with the F1...what's your recommendation for a quality riser ? and..again..thanks

Seekins Precision and Badger Ordnance both make a very good 20/22 MOA riser. Run around $85-90. Yup just drop the scope with the supplied rings on the riser and it sets it up to a good height for an AR.
