I can't wait to get mine in! My 34mm mount I bought will be in this week and sitting there waiting. LOL
The only thing I wish was different would be the ability to change parallax. I know that’s not a thing with LPVO but if they had like a click dial on the side for 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, and infinity I think that would be cool. I want to put this on a shorty 308win so naturally I want to crank the power to 10x and would need that parallax adjustment for the long shots.
I wish they would have increased the objective lens. 24 in a 34 MM tube at 10 power is not the way to go.
Guess we will see but the reports so far tend to disagree.
Why? With the 24mm objective the potential error is not large enough to make a practical difference. If it had a 40-50 or larger objective sure.
Oh really. Let’s take a 150yd parallax and shoot 900yds and you’ll see so much parallax that even trying to make a wind call is useless. The error budget is so small that it will be misses all day. the context was a 308WIN shorty shooting long range that that optic. Don’t try to twist it any other direction.

I really, really want to like this optic, but I'm wondering what was sacrificed for the magnification. Sure, 1x and 10x are great to have in the same optic, but I can't help but suspect that the exit pupil is not forgiving at all compared to other 1-6x and 1-8x offerings on the market currently. That being said, their MRAD reticle is nicely thought out, and I could see this going on top of many ARs in the near future.
Lil Casino makes a great point - if you're going to crank it to 10x on a shorty 308, do you really need the 1x?
Not trying to talk you out of it, but in the same way that people buy too much magnification on the high end for their given use, I could easily see someone purchasing too little magnification on the low end too. Why pay the premium in either direction, unless your probable use case requires true 1x or high magnification frequently.
All this being said, the cool factor is really, really high with this one, and if it's an "I want" purchase, who am I to talk you out of it!

Standard AR height mount. As to which one that would be up to your wallet. Tons out there.
As to the other comments, amazes me this optic won't be out for 2 months and people who have never touched it are already saying it won't work and not right but people who have used it say good things. Got to love the internet. LOL

I’d read some people moving to ~2” for a more head up position? I recently ordered my first AR so this is new to me and want to get the right height. The new razor came out at the perfect time for me.
Yeah the 1.5" height is what i use on my 1-6 Razors and it works great for me. Some do use higher but I wouldn;t want to be .4-.5" higher on an AR.
Taller height mounts are mostly for use with helmets and for larger clip-ons in front of it. The military seems to be moving from ~1.4" height above the rail to 1.9", so a half inch bump.
Razor will work fine with either, but for me, 1.9" will require a cheek riser.
On the rest of it. There are good reasons why LPVOs have small objectives. For an optic of this type, I am willing to have a smallish exit pupil on 10x if it keeps the whole thing reasonably trim and light.
Parallax and focus will play a role, so you may need to dial the magnification down a little for longer distances. That is what I do with the GRSC 1-10x30 I have, but Razor Gen 3 should have better DOF.
If you really want adjustable parallax, March has a 1-10x24 Shorty coming out which has side-focus, but reticle illumination is not nearly as bright as the Razor.
I plan to test both when available, but I suspect they fill somewhat different roles. For the record, I will also test S&B's 1-8x24 Short Dot while I am at it.
For speed on 1x, while giving you really good performance across the board, Razor Gen 3 should be really good, but I won't know for sure until it gets here.

Couldn't agree more, what I'm most interested in at this moment is whether or not the edges with "disappear" at 1x like the 1-6 gen II E I have
That remains to be seen. ATACR and NX8 are the most direct competitors for the Razor Gen 3, although the more expensive S&B 1-8x24 and ZP8 are certainly in the mix as well, with March 1-10x24 having partial overlap with these.

Will the NF ATACR make it in to your review? I'd be interested in your thoughts on how it stacks up against the other scopes you mentioned.
I'll try to get my hands on one, but I make no promises. Nightforce people would rather stick their hands into a cage with Ebola carrying monkeys than have anything to do with me. I'll see if I can borrow it from someone when I do the side-by-side.

Let's not bring up the current pandemic worries. Between SHOT and my current travel I am pretty much guaranteed to be shaking hands with patient zero at some point.

I messed with it at SHOT, I was pretty impressed. To me its perfect for something like a a Noveske Leonidas 12" AR10 or similar. Not a huge fan of 34mm on AR15's, but at the weight, it would still be livable.
Was very impressed by the Kahles K18i, but admittedly, I am a K16i fan and owner. K18i appeared to have a larger view, with the reticle appearing larger, and impressively an even more forgiving eyebox than the K16 and loads more illumination. Not sure if K16i AADland caps fit it, but when they do, I will likely make the swap. Would be near perfect if they would just number the mils in the reticle. I don't know why they they dont do that.

That’s where AR optics are mounted. The eye relief is listed as 3.6 inches, down from 4 in the 1-6. Not bad.
Is definitely not where my AR optic are mounted . Or anyone that I know for that matter. Normally put your Mount right up against the edge of the front of the upper receiver. If not it covers up the charging handle which can be a really big issue. Also getting tunnel vision from the scope being too close at 1x. Same reason you mount a red dot in forward location. Blocks all peripheral vision if you close. And at least where I get a cheek weld I doubt I would even get a sight picture

Yeah could be that they just slapped it on there And that position isn't needed for proper eye relief. I guess we will know soon enough. just an issue to look out for. that's the reason that AR magnifier are not widely used. People try them and then figure out the eye relief is like an inch and you need to mount it on the first pic section past the CH leaving it sticking way behind the back of the upper receiver. it's a great idea it's just no one has seemed to master that part yet.

Believe it or not it actually does this a little better than the 1-6 razor. I was honestly shocked by that when we first started testing them.
Please pay no attention to where it is mounted on the prop gun at SHOT. All of those are slapped on as quickly as we can in the race to get the booth set up. The scope has plenty of eye relief to mount it where you like.

Whoa, that's extremely hard to believe but....if that's the case these will be hard to beat!
Not speaking about this video/youtiber specifically (so OP, please dont take offense), but how nice would the SHOT floor be if they were more discerning w/ their media pass granting? Cant believe the amount of seemingly duplicate and triplicate videos ive seen post SHOT. (again, not this video/'youtuber in particular - this just jogged that thought).
