So I was adjusting my new-used Razor GII 4.5-27 scope and the darn cap won't thread. First time I've taken it off to zero it too. I've looked at male and female threads with magnification and brushed whatever non-existent junk there might have been out. The cap threads fine onto the other turret so I know the problem is with the windage turret. Which means sending the scope back for that famous Vortex warranty.
I noticed this cap had some screwdriver scratches but thought it was just normal carelessness.
Perhaps I should live with it for the Summer and wait until next Winter to get it fixed. How sealed do think it is? Put a piece of tape on to hold the cap in place, being careful not to gum anything up?
Or maybe just wack it against a soft tree to get it started? Any shade tree mechanic tricks?
