I was planning on the vortex for my new 18" semi-auto .308 until I saw that NF came out with an optic I can afford. The only problem is that it doesn't have the features I wanted (which I understand that's how they got the price down), but close enough. Will the NF will have superior glass and durability? Is that enough to outweigh the features I like of the Vortex?

Why I'm leaning toward the Vortex:
FFP
Exposed turrets
Mil/Mil (This is the most important because I find it easier)
$300 that could go toward ammo

Why the NF:
It's a NF…

That's what I got so far. Is the glass, quality and finer reticle of the Nightforce enough to go with it? Or is the quality of the Vortex glass on par with the NF and I should go with the features I want?

The Vortex PST would be a great way to go for what you are doing. For the price and the quality I would also look at the Burris XTRII these scopes look great also I took one home for me. The Nightforce SHV are very nice scopes also but they only come in MOA (not bad if your an MOA shooter) and they are capped turrets that can be used as target turrets. I will say the SHV has great glass. If the SHV was in MARDs I would be all over this scopes.

We sale all these scopes so if we can be of help let me know.

Thanks for the help guys. Just trying to make sure I'm not missing out on anything. I was trying to talk myself out of the Vortex but now that's the way I'm going.
