Rifle Scopes Vortex Windage Turret Question

I searched for appox 10 minutes with no luck, so I'll just ask.

I have two Vortex Viper's. Both PST GenII FFP and same EBRC2 Reticles. There are no markings for direction on the Windage turret? I noticed this after mounting one this evening on my Savage. Just a few quick internet searches show the PST with one.

My 3-15 shows R and L on the windage mil marks.

Eg ..... L2, L1, 0, R1, R2 ......

I have the same. If the elevation is Counter-clockwise for UP, then Counter-clockwise for RIGHT. If the scope is a European style where Clockwise is UP, then it's opposite; Clock-wise for Right. Kind of like lefthand threads on a bolt.

I think was is confusing me is pictures from Vortex's website, have the same model of scope with different markings on the windage turret. They are showing right is clockwise on the turret. As attached in Image 1. My scopes are in Image 2.

I think you got confused looking at the website pic since it's the MOA windage knob, plus looking from the opposite side. Your pic is identical to the standard Milrad knob that @beetroot mentioned.

I think you are correct. I was over thinking it like I tend to do.

Think of the turret moving your impacts like a bolt; Screw in, they go left. Twist down, they go down.

I think of it like this, come RIGHT BACK (rotate towards you) or you’ll be LEFT OUT (rotate away from you)
