Anyone have any opinions on these from personal experience? And could someone tell me if these mount to the normal barrel nut or do they come with their own?
Thanks for any help.
The additional pieces of bolt on rails are the ones pictured and the rail comes with it's own special barrel nut, but will assemble with a standard armors wrench. They have a built in anti-rotational feature and they are VERY light and VERY solid. They are a better value ( and lighter weight) then buying the standard JP VTAC handguard and then having to add a full length top picatinny rail and additionally priced bolt on rails.
They are comfortable to handle and well thought out. I couldn't see you needing more than this rail offers.
glad to help. One thing though. Because of the design of the anti-rotation feature, I would stick with a standard forged upper (which it was designed for) and not an oversized billet upper. I don't believe the billets will work.
