Vudoo Chassis for Reliable feeding?

Hi all -

I'm sure this is a duplicate of other questions but I couldn't find it - sorry!

I put a Vudoo three-60 barreled action into an MPA BA comp chassis and it worked well when the mag block insert was in place...but they keep falling out and getting lost. I've loctited 3 of them in place (per MPAs recommendation) but they just don't stay in or jam up the mag release. I've called MPA at least a dozen times this week and no one picks up.

So, is there a chassis that doesn't need this or has an adjustable mag catch (manners, foundation, MDT, etc)?

Thanks!

Accuracy International AT-X AICS Long forend, pre-production prototype, Vudoo 360 feeds perfectly, I know of three Vudoos that are being tested. Short forend in the lower pic is a Bergera B14R 18" barrel. If you want your AICS magazines to run every time try the original AICS. Beware of cheep imitations:)

XLR Envy Pro has been my favorite for the Vudoo. MDT ACC also has been consistent across 5 different chassis w/ no modifications. The mag latch on the MDT is perfect.

ARC Xylo, mag latch too short.
KRG, too much variance in the mag latch / chassis. Some good, some don't work.

You could do MDT ACC, and get a threaded barrel extender if it really mattered to me. It also doesn't hurt anything shooting it short (just looks funny)

I haven't had any issues with my Three60 in MPA BA chassis. I bought it put together direct from them, it came with an adjustable mag catch. I haven't adjusted anything. If your MPA chassis doesn't have an adjustable mag catch, you could get one from them, I would contact MPA and ask. Since you said VGW isn't answering the phone, email them. They have always answered the phone and emails when I contacted them through the order/build process.

Thanks - mine does have the adjustable mag catch but that doesn’t seem to be the problem(I’ve tried a number of settings).

There’s too much forward and back movement of the mag, so while the feed height is right, it rocks forward due to the extra space in the magwell and rounds won’t load. MPA offers a mag block to help solve this problem but it doesn’t stay in place (is supposed to be held in place with loctite or something permanent).

Thanks!

What bottom metal are you running?

It’s the Manners Mini Chassis which is built into the stock. It’s an aluminum system made by Badger Ordnance last I knew. You can see it here.

Running mine in a JP APAC chassis. No feed issues with poly or aluminum mags. No adjustments needed.

Mdt acc, feds great also the barrel being short in the chassis doesn't effect anything, unless you want to run a tuner, might have a problem.
I put tape on the front and back of mag when I used an mpa chassis, solved the problem u are having. Feeding was almost a 100 % with doing that

XLR Envy Pro, feeds all magazines without any adjustments

Cadex absolutely will run any mag without any adjustments.

Worked on couple MPAs and resolved feeding issues with mag block and adjustable mag latch.

Just resolved foundation/Hawkins/v22 feeding issues with Hawkins extended mag latch.

Its magazine dependant.

In my chassis one mag runs flawlessly, other was a dog. Had to fiddle it. The problem mag exhibits problems in multiple other guns / chassis.
Also correct, that's my experience with MPA/aluminum magazines combo only - once you set the mag latch to certain magazines that work, some won't. That's only applicable to aluminum magazines as some seem out of spec consistency

My MPA BA Comp chassis feeds just fine - but it required the MPA adjustable mag latch to do so. Is your chassis equipped with one? If not, get with MPA and describe the issue.

If you have any up-down movement in an inserted mag, wailing and gnashing of teeth will probably follow.

Finally, don't confuse misfeeds arising from magazine loading with misfeeds arising from magazine being loose. Vudoo has a video on how to load the mags. If you don't see a staggered column of cartridge noses in the mag, you're likely to experience a misfeed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks - I’ve watched the videos and talked to vudoo and it’s all as it’s “supposed” to be for both the chassis setup and the loading of the mag.

The problem is still there unfortunately with that chassis and the rounds won’t load in the chamber. I did find that Eley had more issues than SK but there are a number of variables at play here.

I can't speak to your specific case since I can't see what's happening with your specific rig, which involves a Three-60 while mine is first-gen. That shouldn't make any difference if both have the same R700 footprint, but there is a potential apples/oranges element

What I can tell you for sure is that if you insert an empty mag with bolt closed, push straight up from the bottom rear of the mag, and see 1/8" or more of vertical movement, you need the adjustable latch. Once I put it into my chassis and adjusted it to remove vertical play, I never had another issue that wasn't related to improper mag loading (more pronounced with the 15-round units) or Eley Edge/Match ammo (flat noses).

My vudoo build is being pushed back due to waiting on the mdt acc gen2, wanted the adjustable mag catch in case there are issues. I also like the other chassis upgrades as well. Prayers after all this money being dumped that it all goes well.

Gorilla Glue. That's what I used. Has been in place since I glued it in in early 2020.

I have my Vudoo in a KRG X-Ray. It has been plug and play. My Bergara in the Bravo was a little off but KRG sent me directions on how to adjust the fore end and trigger guard. Took me five minutes and I never had another issue.

Gorilla Glue works - they stay stuck...

Haven't had a single issue with my b14r or my vudoo in my mpa hybrid, both fitted by @iceng
Haven't run the vudoo at a match yet, but I do tend to run the bolt the same pace whether I'm on the clock or not, have also tried putting force on the mag, either front or rear and Haven't been able to cause a feed issue

Hi. 🤘

I dont remember your specific setup, however if i (we) assembled it, part of our QC sheet is function test, which covers feeding and magazines. Its depressing how many people dont check it and just assume its ok.

Im not innocent, ive had screw ups, but learnt, thus we QC and checks. Glad its working 110%. Now go and be awesome with it.

The being awesome part will take awhile, the vudoo is far more capable than I currently am. Good excuse to practice haha

Im the idiot that came in with the vudoo the b14r, the b14 hmr, the cz457 and a scope fitment all at the same time 🤣🤣

Don’t use loctite, use superglue.

Not idiot.. "customer who knew what he wanted". Which can be better than customers who "want to spend money, but dont know on what".

I love blank-build invoices. Who wouldnt, but i DONT like building a gun and then seeing it being sold 3 months later with "custom build, extremely accurate, best parts, etc. Not what i wanted so selling to fund a new project".

Id rather spend a few hours consult with those people to build what THEY want, not what their mates think is cool.

Next build is either a 223 warwick wfa1 or a 223 semi copy of my vudoo.

Depends on the tax man in June haha

Just built a bergara into a krg bravo. Had to fiddle it. The plastic moulded mag well was the issue, along with thr mag latch. Working flawlessly on 2 mags and 2 different ammo brands.

I used to run a V22 in a KRG W3 and ran into feeding issues every single time I shot it.
Switched to a Three60 in a MDT ACC and its running flawlessly. Even feeds if I apply forward pressure to the mag. I did do the tape mod on the chassis (small piece of velcro on the back of the mag well)

My vudoo will not feed in the TCS with mini chassis. Does not sit high enough for bolt to grab. Manners is sending a new mag latch which I am hoping will work.

In a LRH with the M5 bedding block and hawkins bottom metal, it feeds flawlessly. Been shooting matches with this and actually like the ligher gun, only 12 lbs instead of 22.
