Sidearms & Scatterguns Vudoo gets into the 1911 market

Seems like an extremely odd name when one of the top 1911/2011 manufacturer's logo is a Mobius.
Voodoo might have to rethink that name. SVI has been in the chat.

Interesting move.

The high end 1911 market seems like a tough one to break into. There's already a lot of established players, and people are really picky about their 1911's.

It's going to be hard to get people to pick a new/relatively unknown name in 1911's with no history/pedigree over the current established options in the ~$3k price point, IMO.

The .22 1911 seems sweet though. Definitely agree it should come with a threaded barrel.

Don't know that I care enough about a billet trigger for the cost of entry, their aesthetics, which seem to be their point of separation from other semi custom players, are not my cup of tea, so I personally wouldn't.
Accuracy and reliability amongst single stack $1K 1911's are a wash, unless you're paying for a specific accuracy guarantee. Even then.....

Maybe this is why MB left vudoo. Its going to be a hard sell at $3K for a new manufacture with 0 experience making custom 1911s.

Wilson, Ed Brown, Les, Nighthawk, Springer Pro and even Dan Wesson at the next lower price point have a long history of making great 1911's around that price.

They are pretty ugly to as far as 1911's go, so that wont help.

I had the same thought.

High end .22 1911's make sense for Vudoo. IMO, "regular" high-end 1911's don't.

Some seem dubious about the way they make the 1911 frame. I just see it as a new way that gets a very accurate frame. If that gets a reliable and accurate custom or semi-custom 1911, at much shorter lead times than the old Names, what's not to like?
