Have a 25% cert to eotech and was curious if its worth approx 1550? Read a user or 2 have tracking issues to start but was replaced very quickly. Other than that it seems decent quality. Just don't want to waste 1500 if there are much better options in that price field. (Bushnell is not an option).

if you have use for a short/small form factor optic with larger optic mag range...i like mine on my gasser...if size doesnt matter either way, its not really ahead of any of the $1200-2k, 5-25/6-24 optics, but it is way smaller than all of them, the tooless resetting turret is a nice feature, and i do like the capped windage

Yea no requirement for a small form factor. Going on a switch barrel so the quick/toolless zero had my attention but other than that i wouldn't have considered it if not for the cert.

Might end up just selling this cert or getting a xps for a build i put on hold for a while lol.

I'm really considering the Vudu 5-25 to mount on a Fix rifle - are there others in the price range that you'd recommend over it if size wasn't an issue but lower weight was a 'nice to have'? I didn't want to start an entire new thread but have been looking at the Vudu, Steiner T5xi in either the 3-15 or 5-25 (heavy), and the MK5HD 3.6-18. I don't really have anywhere local to check these out.

Although I haven't been using the Vudu for long enough to give it a final review, I have been extremely impressed with it so far. Obviously the size and weight in this magnification range set it apart from many other scopes, but when comparing it side by side to scopes that cost triple what this scope goes for, I have been impressed with the clarity, field of view, and light transmission (very bright in cloudy, dusk, and night conditions). I chose the Horus H-59 reticle as it is one of my favorite reticles. Tracking has proven to be spot on, illumination is also as good if not better than many scopes. The turret design/zero stop is straightforward and effective. I like that it has capped windage and a locking elevation turret (something I look for in any scope). If I had to critique anything, the clicks are a little mushy, very tactile, but not very audible. For the price I think that this scope is very impressive and hard to beat. If I run into any issues I will let you know, but so far I am very pleased.

The scope is currently sitting on a Remington 700 action with an 18'' 6.5 Creedmoor Criterion Rem/Age pre-fit in a KRG Whiskey 3 folder... a short and handy tack driver.

ive never been super impressed with the T5Xi's...owned 1 and had my hands on a few others and they always seemed like a good shell of a scope, but glass always looked terrible to my eye, and with the tons of tracking issues...i moved past them a long time ago, havent seen any newer production so maybe some of that has improved, but idk

never messed with a mk5, leupy has never impressed me enough to spend any of my money with them, and i dont know anyone who's running one to check it out...ive heard good things, but most of those good things are from guys i wouldnt put much stock into their opinion anyways lol

at the $1500 mark, the Vudu would probably be my top choice for all the features it has, and how they executed them...it doesnt blow a gen 1 razor, bushy dmr2, swfa 5-20hd, xtr2...etc out of the water and some of those i like better in certain areas, but i like the overall package of the Vudu better considering everything

at the retail mark of $2100 or whatever it is, it would be a much tougher buy for me

^^^^^I agree with this guy if you’re looking for a compact package... if not I feel there’s more bang for your buck elsewhere^^^^^

I also agree that the Vudu is the best choice if you want the combination of size, weight, and high mag in the sub 2k and 3k price ranges. I’m using mine on a 16” precision carbine AR15 I built and it is great. I’ve used an XRS, USO MR10, and T5Xi 3-15 on this rifle, and the Vudu is the best of them yet in my opinion, only over the T5Xi because it weighs the same and is shorter with higher mag. I really liked the T5Xi, and would recommend it as an alternative to the Vudu if you don’t need the short, light, high mag niche the Vudu fills. As others have said, there are a lot of other good options available in the $1500 range that don’t have to compromise to fulfill the weight and length requirements the Vudu does.
