I’ve spent time behind the Leupold, and I own the Razor 1-6. The Leupold seems like a nice scope. I haven’t run it hard by any means. Glass is always a subjective thing, but I remember it being good. Very clean. The one I was using had a green dot. Idk if that’s on all of them, or is an option, I’m not a Leupold “guy”. I did like it though. Studies have shown that the human eye picks up green faster than other colors, and it seemed fast enough with the Leupold. As far as the turrets, I liked them quite a bit. The pinch to turn turrets are a great idea for what the scope is designed for (3 Gun/gaming). All in all, a solid enough scope.
Now, the Razor 1-6: this scope is the benchmark LPV to me. The glass is insane clear. The fov is wonderful. The scope seems to disappear when you’re looking through it. The scope is bright and perfect from edge to edge. There is zero “fishbowl” effect. I seriously have run drill upon drill with my Razor on 1 power against my Aimpoint. I am no slower with my Razor. My Aimpoint doesn’t let me turn the dial and engage steel at 625 though. The scope is a little heavy, I admit. That said, they are bombproof, and mine has been through several seasons of 3 Gun, and hasn’t been any the worse for wear. If Vortex came out with the Razor 1-8, they might well have the ultimate LPV on the market. With the new NF 1-8’s out, I’m BETTING a 1-8 is in the works.
Leupold VX6 vs the Razor 1-6......still the Razor for me. It does everything well, and is crystal clear. No distortion, no fishbowl. I have several LPV ‘s, but I always reach for the Vortex.
