Just got a notification that the VZ 58 was back in stock and placed an order for one. Now the fun begins with modifications and optics. I already have some parts from Czechoslovakia and will be ordering more soon.

My VZ-58 in its stock form is a most enjoyable weapon to shoot. It's quite well made, too. The magazines are works of art. My only complaint is the forend gets pretty hot after the first magazine. So, gloves are in order for extended firing sessions.

@MSTN, is that the "Brownell's" model? They just sold out of a limited run of the VZ 58 that had wood furniture and a grey finish.

Mine will not be stock for very long because it will be SHTF rifle.

MSTN, I'm sure it slipped your mind, but don't you remember that I built that rifle custom for you? It wasn't a Czechpoint build, although the barreled action and internals, minus the trigger were imported and distributed by Czechpoint. All the other components were sourced by me independently as well as applying the Czech gray finish. I really took a lot of pride in building that rifle and I am happy that you still love it.

Man, I love these rifles. I have a VZ58 and a vz2008. The 2008 I put all kinds of “tacticool” shit on it, but the Vz58 I left in its raw, natural wood and unmolested.

Both love cheap, dirty ammo and shoot it well!

My apologies to Supanik. I stand corrected 100%. My rifle was custom built by Supanik from a barreled action by Czechpoint.

This rifle has never malfunctioned in several hundred rounds to date, and has, with quality ammunition from Hornady exhibited a level of accuracy at 100 yards with iron sights of which I'm quite pleased and proud.
