"Short Barrel Rilfe Ammo" means spend your money elsewhere, and not just your ammo money.
Short barrel ammo is .223/556 according to article.

I got blatantly fucked by them on a truck battery about 4 years ago. Haven’t been back since, could care less. Will spend more to support local vendors.
Fuck em. Wal-Mart has NEVER had American interest at heart or as a core business principal.
Maybe finally some of the freedom loving types will wake up and boycott Walmart and their destruction of America.

I am writing as a LONG time customer going back to when you were only in Arkansas (my original home state).
I am asking you to reconsider your decision to halt ammunition sales. I have bought a LOT of ammo at your stores over the years. I am a law-abiding, productive citizen who enjoys firearms as a hobby. I also believe in my right to self-defense and my Rights (all of them) as enumerated in the Bill of Rights.
My local Walmart was a great place to buy my practice ammo, because the prices and selection were good.
Halting the sale of ammo at Walmart will, of course, do nothing to curb CRIMINAL activity. It will only serve to punish law-abiding customers like me. LIFE-LONG customers like me.
Whenever I need something (clothing, car oil / filter, groceries, cleaning supplies, etc), I'd go to Walmart... and while I'm there, pick up some ammo. It's really the ammo I come for, if I'm honest. I can buy all the other stuff elsewhere. But, there's only one place I can go get stuff for the house (honey-do list) AND sneak in some ammo for me! Walmart.
If I can no longer buy ammo at Walmart, the incentive for me to go there for the honey-do list is gone. I'll be honest... Target is closer to my house. They don't have ammo. I drive FARTHER to Walmart, so I can replenish my ammo supply. If that's gone, I'll be going to Target, instead for household sundries.
I understand the urge to be "PC" and virtue-signal in these turbulent political times. But, I am asking you to reconsider this decision which only punishes your loyal law-abiding gun-owning customers.

Will they change because of MY email? No. But, if they get 100,000+ emails just like it, they may reconsider. The bottom line is the bottom line. Gillette lost nearly $1B because of the fallout resulting from the "toxic masculinity" ad. They pulled the ad.
I would encourage everyone to send Walmart an email.

I think Walmart is somewhat of a filthy place... but how many other stores are there that you can get your clothes, groceries, and guns all under the same roof?
If they keep their current policy up, sounds like "zero" places.

I don't shop there. That said, it sucks for the more rural areas where it's either 9.99/ box of 9mm at WM or 25.95 from Bubba's Ripoff Gun Depot.

I expect the image many have of walmart shoppers is only so in rural areas and that a massive portion of their income arrives in the form of foodstamps, not ammo allowance.

sadder still is the fact that walmart probably drove Bubba's Ripoff Guns Depot out f business years ago like most small businesses in rural areas with a walmart.
Who cares. I hate Walmart anyway. I prefer any other store than walmart. Seems like no matter which one I go to its full of all the degenerates. Plenty of other places to go shop. Walmart blows.
I remember when they removed an stop selling guns, but a short time later they put them back in do to major loses in the whole store. It was not the gun folks but dad told mom he was not going, so mom went alone. Store sales dropped like a rock, it will happen again,... FSA central, is what shitmart is all about, an full of. The dregs that shop there, are the bottom feeders of this country, an their income is mostly public tit money.

I don't open carry at all, Hell, I don't even own any guns, but if I'm reading the announcement correctly open carry in a Walmart is still allowed if authorized by law enforcement. So if it is legal in the state who should someone ask if they could be authorized?
And 22 rimfire ammo, would that be regular ammo or short barreled rifle ammo or handgun ammo??? And 22 shorts, maybe this would be the short rifle ammo, it has that word right there on the little box. So .22 long rifle would be OK, right?
I need enlightenment.

I've tried for years NOT to shop at Walmart, but it was still one of the cheapest places to buy a lot of handgun ammo. This just gives me another excuse not to go there....after I go in the morning and buy up all the cheap ammo I can find. WTF, I'll stock up on their dime!!
Um, I just want to point out that Target is no friend of the 2A either so they could care less if you go to Target lol. Again, you are running out of places to shop. Walmart is the only thing within 30 miles of me to buy shit, unfortunately. Guess I’m going to have to start drop delivering my groceries!

I’ve always thought it would be a scream to go in, load up your shopping cart with frozen food, then walk around casually while everything thaws, then take it to the other end of the store, abandon it and walk out, having purchased nothing.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.. I know. I have to be pragmatic. If I "boycotted" every "anti-gun" company, I'd have nowhere to shop at all.
The bottom line is that I'd shop at Walmart because they offer merchandise at low prices AND I can pick up some ammo every time, while I'm at it.
Target ALSO offers merchandise at low prices and is closer to my house. BUT, they don't sell ammo. So, Walmart gets my business... for PRAGMATIC reasons. But, if they don't offer ammo anymore, I'll move on to the next most pragmatic place to shop. If I eliminated every virtue-signaling business from my list of acceptable merchants, there would be very few left. I'd have to pay more and drive farther. I will boycott when it's practical to do so.
I'm not boycotting Walmart because of this. I'm simply no longer incentivized to choose Walmart over Target. At Walmart, I could get the "honey do" list done AND sneak in a couple boxes of ammo. If they take that away, it's simply easier for me to go to Target - half the distance from my house.
