Walter Becker, co-founder of Steely Dan, dead at 67......Bummed....

Steely Dan always sounded to me like each guy in the band was playing a different song.

I guess I shouldn't say anything if I had nothing nice to say but for you guys that are fans sorry for your loss of a source of enjoyment.

I have been listening to their music for such a long time. I am so very glad that they started touring a few years back. Touring for them meant a few shows versus a typical tour of multiple cities.

I got to see them in SoCAL several years ago and it was truly one of the best concerts I have ever been.

RIP

Thanks Veer , very nice......

Rode up to the Crystal Mountain ski resort with a bunch of new buddies for the first time. They were three years older than I, when can't buy a thrill came out ('72, I think). One of them was a fabulous gal by the name of Taryn Nakamichi. Much later, she was riding in a car that went over the I-90 bulge into 230 feet of water on the Mercer Island floating bridge in November of 76. Cold, dark, black, tough way to go, drowning. Every time I hear Steely Dan, I think of her. Beautiful girl, long gone, but will never be forgotten...

Hey Nik,

Perhaps at the Santa Barabara bowl? My wife and I saw them there on a Tuesday night, then caught Buddy Guy at the Hollywood Bowl the next night. Fabulous experiences/shows, had a great time/great week.

Sorry for the sad memories. Don't mind Mr. Roofy Puddin' Pop.

No but close...

My wife and I saw them at the outdoor arena down in Irvine, CA. I think it was owned by Verizon back then but now it is called the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater.
