I am currently trying to sell my 1998 Harley Sportster 1200 so I can fund a new GAP.

I used to own a Custom Rem on and older Mcm. A3 stock and loved it. Then I got to hold an A5 and love it too. Nothing seems to fill the void that old A3 left though.

Anyway, seems that you get more options for less money in the FBI HRT than the Crusader. Same accuracy guarantee, same action.

Crusader $3725 + $135 Adj LOP, $125 Saddle Cheek Piece = $3985 without Badger Front Rail or Muzzle Brake and Saddle instead of Integral CP w/ KMW Hardware
vs
FBI HRT $4325 w/ Badger EFR, Adj LOP, Integral Adj Cheek Piece, Surefire Brake/Supp Attach

$340 Difference! Seems Cheap for the Badger Rail and Surefire Brake/Supp adapter and Integral KMW CP

Crusader has the M-16 Extractor - I don't see that in the FBI HRT description.

So, anything else that I am not seeing that would make the Crusader win out over the HRT. Obviously Cost if a person doesn't need the EFR or Surefire! But, I hope to have an option someday to use both.

Thoughts from anyone with experience on the FBI HRT would be appreciated!

My buddy has a Crusader and I know what it is capable of! Besides, I like to be different and there doesn't seem to be a lot of HRT out here running around!

You missed out then, as George sold a Costas HRT on here about a month ago. That was a sick stick. Think it went for $4k or so. If I was gonna wait on a build, I would go HRT as well, that is a pretty rig.

The best thing about a custom rifle is that you can have it in any flavor you like. If you like the HRT specs, get the HRT. Personally, I choose the components and GAP put it all together and its exactly what I wanted.

It maybe a little more expensive but well worth it to have it your way.

I just picked up a new crusader from GAP last week,great gun as I'm sure u know. If u plan on on using NV device or a can I would definitely get the FBI HRT,besides u said your buddy has a crusader,that alone is worth the extra few bucks. Good thing is u can't go wrong either way. Good luck.

That's what I'm doing. I'm using a stock I already own and love, so I'm paying a shade over $3k for my 100% custom Templar action rifle.

Barreled action in OD Green, stock in 6 color multi-cam.

Can't go wrong with GAP agreed! I had a couple of GAP tweaked rifles but never a full GAP!

I saw Costa's rifle after I got the itch! Bummer!

Micah - you get where I coming from on being different!

Looked at the Hospitaller - but does trip the trigger like the HRT or Crusader!

I hear you all on buying the parts and having GAP put it all together! When the itch started they had 3 HRTs in stock! 3/8 MOA Guarantee from the HRT or Crusader! Don't see that on any others.

I'm starting from scratch! I don't have a stock action or anything! Thought about surgeon action and all but just seems that the GAP already invented a wheel that I like so why re-invent!

The wait won't bother me, other than my lack of patience. I still have my AI AE to shoot until the arrival.

Not sure on wait time and with show show going figured I'd wait til next week to call.

Like I said above, just a couple of days ago they had 3 HRTs in stock. Apparently not anymore though.

Talked to George a few weeks ago, he said it could be anywhere from 3 months to 9 months just depends if he has what you want in stock.

Then why not stay consistent and use the AICS 1.5 upgrade for the small cost it is on a build and then you don't need bottom metal. If the AI stock worked for me all my rifles would have them. Precision rifle shooting is all about consistency.

Cause I have finally decided I like McMillan stocks better! More comfortable to me, thus hopefully making me more consistent.

Gonna sell my AE when I get the GAP!

I bought an hrt and definetly have no regrets. I got mine for similiar reasons and the rifle kicks ass. Mine loves hornady superformance match 178 bthp. If you get the hrt i would suggest giving it a try. Good luck

I bought that rifle, and it was worth every penny. The only difference is, it has an A4 stock.

Any direction you go with GAP you are heading in the right one.
