Trying to plan a P-Dog trip for 2011 with a few friends, former military and active duty. Looking for some contact assistance.

One year we went to Laramie WY and used Davy Nacy and his partner Kent as our guides. It was a good trip. Nacy has gotten out of the guide biz for the most part.

Another trip we made was to SD with a contact who hunts P-Dogs every year and knows some land owners, their method is 4 people to an SUV doing P-Dog drive-bys. My friends & I are more of the stationary i.e. bench shooter persuasion. The dogs on that trip were very skidish, constantly shot over. We ended up going off by ourselves shooting dogs from prone. It wasn't until late in our 3rd day that we finally found a farmer (via a mini-mart)contact with a dog problem that gave us permission to shoot, that was the only decent shooting of the whole trip. I ended up bringing back 80% or more of my ammo. Never even uncased my 22-250. It was a long haul from FL for what little shooting we did.

So if someone has some suggestions for contacts, making contacts, land owners, reasonable guides etc. feel free to PM me. NE, WY, SD, NM etc. We drive for 2 days to get there, shoot for 3 and drive home.

Not opposed to paying, more concerned about driving 3600 miles round trip and not having a decent shoot. That and we aren't keen on being around others that are careless or that are there to party & drink while away from the wife. We show up on a mission to shoot, from dawn till dusk. No time for hang overs or someone ruining the trip for everyone else because they insist on being an ass.

Why not fly?

Fly into Billings, rent a car, stop by FWP and get block management book/maps, go shooting. I can think of a few ranches within an hour of Billing that used to buy me ammo when it was affordable.

Maybe a a forum member here who lives in MT can mail you some block management booklets. There is a pretty big spread near Harding with a billion pdogs they'd love to have you shoot at.

PM me for more info, I'll see what I can find.

My son and I hunted the Rockin 7 Ranch in WY 2 years back. Great accomodations, great food all you can get shooting. They have like 20 square miles or something like that to hunt on. We only shot one day firing over 700 rounds out of 2 bolt guns. I plan on going back and using them again. I highly recommend them.
