Warne bipod. Super stable compared to uncle chuck's or, whatever the big spring bipod is called.
But I just wanna bash it real quick.
It's a "Precision mount". But it tried to be tactical. When the legs are forward you can just reach up and pull them down. Lock right into place. Cool.
But
To do that, they sacrificed a leg position. Had they cut a slot into the front of the leg locking plate, the legs wouldn't deploy straight down without any effort. But this isn't a "Tactical" bipod. Its "Precision". I'd happily take another leg position and an extra inch.

It's super bad ass. Their rifle swivel stud attachment rail is also extremely hardcore.

Their sling swivel pic attachment is over the top hardcore all metal bad ass. The sling stud on their piece rotates freely. I put my wicked light light on it. No issues. Again, not disappointed at all.

Did you ever think they are trying to tap into the bipod market that Harris occupies. Lots of people run Harris bipods in prs. They are happy to give away some stability for speed. The Warne bipod is more stable and only a little slower

Does seem to hit a middle ground between the Harris and the Atlas designs in terms of speed and stability. Maybe leaning more toward a sped-up Atlas.

I’m looking hard at this bipod right now as a do-everything PRS and long range benchrest tool...

It doesnt really exist. If you want to do everything well then you need a few tools. I run a ckye pod. It's super versatile but not super stable for fast prone shooting. I have a Harris in my pack because sometimes mds design stages to screw people with slower more stable bipods. I also want to get a dedicated prone bipod. What I really want is a LRA f class bipod but they don't make them any more so I might end up with an atlas super cal

I hear you on forcing any piece of kit into a do-anything role if you want it to actually be good at different tasks. Totally right. My thing is I don’t need a bipod to do long range bench and prs well, I just need it to be able to hang the half dozen times a year I shoot for fun past 200yds. That’s why I’m holding to $250 and currently deciding between the Warne and the Atlas.

I have both the original warne (with multiple locking positions) and an atlas PSR. They're both solid bipods that offer pros and cons as far as functionality - you cant go wrong with either.

With that said, I think the Atlas has more aftermarket offerings (bipod feet, leg extensions, etc), which you should also consider based on your applications. Maybe the market has picked up for the warne, I havent checked in a while.

Why not mount the quick drop direction to the rear, and the precision direction to the front?

Super easy disassembly. Easily replace the ball. The Harris bipod is no where near the same level of quality or stability. This bipod is rock solid. I can live without legs locking forward. The quick deploy is nice. I personally need the 3" leg extensions. I ordered them awhile ago but Optics planet is dragging their feet. As stable as it is on a bench, it's just at home in the field. The panning motion is on point.
