To start with they know full well this is not a gun issue. There is a perception this is happening more often than ever before because of all media coverage. Getting killed in a mass shooting that isn't a gang shoot out is extremely rare. The "mass shooting" will never stop, but its also important to note, they did not just start either. The only thing that has really changed is the way they are covered. The reason for this is to push an agenda, the agenda is the removal of your ability to protect your other rights.

I might be wrong but I think Washington already has a ludicrous law banning certain gun parts that MAY/CAN be used in full-auto weapons on the basis that they are "machine gun" parts. For example, USGI BCGs and/or "full auto" BCGs for AR-15s are apparently illegal. If it was "designed for a machine gun", it counts as being illegal. So presumably that could mean AR-15 and -10 parts, FAL, G3, M14, SCAR, ACR, HK416/417, the list goes on.

I wasn't sure. I've seen a bunch of differing opinions about it, with "Colt sells full auto BCG rifles to Washington without a problem" being one of the most common arguments. But the way it was written in the books when I checked was vague enough that they might well use it as an excuse.

I've got a close friend in Washington, visited him twice and checked up on gun laws before I went. Apparently I'd be legally allowed to carry a handgun openly without a permit as long as it was unloaded in a car. But ultimately I didn't bring my guns with me those trips. Luggage fees and all for flying across the country.

I am originally from Skagit County, and when I retired from the USCG and was looking at jobs, we picked SE Alaska where my wife is from. The Schools are better, the laws are better, and for some reason gunners get left the hell alone.
