Hey, here is another versus post. These are the two scopes I'm considering right now. I know both have a limited lifetime warranty, but which company is more willing to actually fulfill their warranty if needed? How does the glass compare on these? I didn't see Weaver on SWFA's rating scale, but have heard good things about them. Convince me one way or the other please!

No one has either of these?

I have both. The Weaver is clearer and I like the thin reticle better than the Bushnells. Im not crazy about its locking turrets though. Both are good quality scopes, have tracked well and held up fine on several different rifles.

I've got a 4-20 Weaver, and it is quite impressive for the price. The new 3-15 with .1 Mil clicks, new reticle, illumination and 100 MOA of travel should be quite impressive. I don't know what it'll cost though.

The weaver looks to be promising for the price range, I'd bet it will be in the ballpark of $7-800. The new reticle is a open mildot with a half hash similar to sightrons reticle. If the new 30mm IOR 4-16 FFP doesn't pan out this summer this will be my next scope.

+1 on the Weaver 4-20. Clear lenses, tracks well, turret clicks are crisp, and good reticle. I tried out quite a few scopes in the $700-1000 range and chose this one and never looked back. The 3-15 sounds like the trick too.

I was told that 4200 and 6500 glass is the same, but I don't work at the factory. Their marketing would lead one to believe that the 6500 is a notch above the 4200

Alright thanks guys. I guess I am leaning more towards the Weaver, but I am going to wait and see how their new one does with the illumination and mil/mil before I buy one of these. And ya, I heard from people too that the 6500 wasn't as good as the 4200 when you get up in magnification. Maybe the 6.5x range distorts it a little or something?

Re: Weaver 3-15x50mm Tactical or Bushnell 2.5-16?

I have a 4-20 weaver and a 4.5-30 6500. Both are great scopes. Glass is too close to call on comparable powers. Bushnell CS did right by me but not so good for my brother. No advice on weaver CS. You will be happy with either!

Personally if it was me and I had only the weaver and the 4200 elite to choose between I'd go with the weaver if you can wait for the new model. A little more mag, better reticle (its now a open mildot and half hash mark), more elevation and lockable turrets. Unless you get a lemon either will be durable. I just wish weaver matched the reticle/turrets and illuminated the 4-20 model as well. Guess we can't have everything.
