Does anyone know the dimensions for this reticle. I'm deciding between the weaver tacticle 3-15 emdr ffp and the swfa 3-15 ffp. I know the emdr has that open center, and I would like to know how open it is.
Would that cause accuracy issues at longer distances? I plan to shoot from 100-500 yards with it on my AR.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I don't know how heavy the EMDR lines subtend, but they are not too thick for target use. The open center is pretty small also, I've had a Weaver 3-15x50 for over 2 years and it has been out to 1000 a couple of times and no problem with the open center or line thickness.

I just sold a SWFA 3-15x and ordered a Weaver 3-15x because I didn't like the SWFA reticle. Too thick at max power and for some reason I just never liked the way it looked. I'll let you know how the EMDR compares when I get the scope on Monday.

I use both (EDMR and Mil-Quad Reticle) from 100 m to 1000 m. EDMR is thinner and marks from 0 to 1 MRAD even thinner. The open center is small enough for very accurate target shooting. I love this reticle. Only complain the hold over is only 5 mrad not 10 mrad marks. It would be perfect combination SWFA SS HD 5-20x50 scope with EDMR reticle. Most guys selling their SS scopes because of too thick Mil-Quad reticle.

I am pretty sure the open center is .25 MOA. I know a 1 in. dot fits almost exactly at 400. The open center is very nice, I don't understand why more companies don't incorporate empty space into their reticle, it allows you to see exactly where you're holding.

the only thing i do not like about the edmr no half mill wind hold off in between the center of the cross hair and the first mil. i was making the same decsion a month ago. i went with the weaver. i bought the bushnell hdmr 3.5-21 and just got it. i am very impressed so far. they can be had from 800-1000 on ebay
