I am planning to get a target scope for mt CZ 452 mainly for target practice and plinking.

I am thinking about Weaver V24 or Sightron SII 6-24X. Any inputs which one should I go with? My budget is $400.

Re: Weaver V24 or Sightron II

thanks for the answers, do you mean if going Sightron it is better to get SIII not SII. With Weavers I have read V24 has clarity issues above 20mag. But have heard all good things about V16 though.

Any other brands in my budget which I should consider.

Re: Weaver V24 or Sightron II

Either, they are both about the same quality. I just looked at a Weaver V24 in 6-24X that was $317 That's pretty good for a .22

Both track pretty well, but I would suggest getting a ranging reticle. More specifically a mil-dot. You may just be plinking now, but later on you may want to use it to range, or, you may want to shoot out to 200-250 yds. and use it for windage. That's about the max elevation you can get out of a scope for a .22lr.

Re: Weaver V24 or Sightron II

I am saying the T series Weaver. I guess I misread that you are in the variable market. The Weaver variables I have owned are fair but never had a hi mag variable Weaver. And yes, I would definitely opt for the SIII over anything else they have offered.

Re: Weaver V24 or Sightron II

A high mag (or any for that matter) SIII is considerably more expensive than the two he's comparing. I would into the SII big sky, they are essentially the same as the standard SII but with upgraded glass.

Re: Weaver V24 or Sightron II

ok I will put Nikon to my list, how about Bushnell Elite 2400 6-24X, is it better or equivalent to Sightron II or Nikon in optical quality.

Re: Weaver V24 or Sightron II

There are a lot of good low cost scopes that will do the job. On my CZ I put a Bushnell ELITE 3200 5-15x40mm Tactical Mil-Dot. This scope work great for it. I’m going to be trying out a Vortex Viper on a 10/22 I have.

Here is a photo of my CZ.
