I visited Montana several times while guiding elk hunts. I was based in Colorado, living in the south. Montana is one of the last places in the lower 48 that has true wilderness. Not KOA campground with roads driving up to and out of the showers, true wilderness. It is entirely possibly here to walk out into the wilds and not see another soul. The weather here is unpredictable and will kill you if you let it. The only month we have no possibility of snow and cold temps is July essentially. It takes a special sort to make it work here. It takes seasons to learn what's what and move with it. That's the reason I love it. You can't come here and buy your way in. You have to learn and earn it. It keeps out the riff raff and big talkers for sure.

I don't think it's gone that far but essentially it's the California problem. All the cities in Montana are college (liberal) towns. These are also the areas with the largest populations....so a town like Missoula carries the weight of 1/4 of the state essentially. Trust me, even the dems here leave the 2nd amendment alone.

Geeze, at least there's that I guess. When I lived up there it seemed like it was all Cowboys & rednecks. Everybody had a gun & dog in their truck & you could pay the state troopers on the spot for a speed violation lol.

Pretty much the same now. You have to do something really stupid to get a speeding ticket here. 70 on the secondary roads and 80 on the interstate, both are suggestions more than rules. 80 on secondary highways will get you a warning, if they bother to stop you at all. I was following a trooper last week at 79 and a guy passed us both and nothing. This was on a two lane highway...LMAO. Every truck here has a firearm inside. No doubt about that, dogs are usually on the tool box in back.

Don't have many picture on my iPad they are all on my phone but....Here is one from a week ago when it was a foot deep in snow. My girlfriend modeling one of the falconry bags I make with her prairie falcon in our yard.

WTH? Am I really the first guy to acknowledge that THAT is a pretty lady sporting a phenomenal bit of leatherwork, holding a FALCON!? That bag looks awesome, do you do solely falconry products? The number of non-faggoty leather crafters in the US is depressing. It took me 3 months of online searching to find a handmade leather travel bag that didn't look like a hipster purse and It came out of Birmingham England. Even then it could use a few improvements.

Oh yeah, and FALCON!!!!!!

I make anything from falconry equipment, bags, hoods and the like to saddles to gun rigs. I have made several for members here. Custom leatherwork is how I make my small living and I'm basically a leather whore for money. If it's made from leather, I can make it.
