Gunsmithing Welding Mag box to Rem 700 Action?

Any opinions about welding the magazine box to 700 action. I know the M40A1's are built this way. Any pros or cons to this procedure? What gunsmiths do this procedure. Thanks in advance.

I have one that was done that way. Fine build...hard to adjust a trigger if it isn't a bottom screw adjust. JMHO

no advantage whatsoever....
