The top group is the factory Hornady precision hunter ammo with the 143eldx, not sure what that one shot was all about, why it went the far over or it may not even be from this rifle and missed it with the paint. 1FF0E7D2-01CF-4D01-93DA-41A2537FA597.pngThis bottom group is the factory Hornady 147 eldm. Very nice!, what brand paints did you use?, I'm planning a sponge job on my McMillan probably shades of grey with a accent color for depth. Brownells Alumahide possibly.
I've only got 30 rounds on my barrel so far, went to the range and rang steel, paper will be next!

I have only ever had Clayton build me rifles in the past and I see no reason to look for a new smith. Switch lug is great and I am looking to get into his new Caprock action soon...... So please go buy my 6.5 CM/308 Switch Lug Rifle so I can get the next one built!

The Caprock is designed for maximum rigidity with today’s larger optics. It features integral Picatinny style scope bases with 20 MOA forward cant machined into the forward and rear bridge, for rock solid scope mounting using a variety of rings. The center section is cut out over the ejection port, to allow easy loading from the top and unhindered case ejection. It is available in left or right hand configuration, and can be had in either stainless steel or titanium body(Caprock-TI).

PRICE: $1350 stainless, add $450 for Titanium Body. Add $200 for Caprock .338 action for Norma/Lapua/Rigby cartrides

So does this new action incorporate the Switch lug by the same means as other actions (two pins entering the face of the action)? I would think there would be a way to integrate this feature into the action similar to how AI does. I am very interested in another switch barrel build. I am eyeing the Terminus Zeus or some form of the WTO Switch lug.

Action does not have the switch lug incorporated like AI. It will always be a separate part from what I can tell which will make it easy to put on any action in the future.

Thanks! I used rust-oleum camouflage paint that is good to use on just about anything, plastic, wood ect.
ya I’ve got around 40-50 on mine

I just got a WTO switch lug for my Curtis Axiom action. Two bolts, 308 and a .532" for 6.5PRC that will be the primary caliber.

It's a nicely machined piece of steel, double pinned, all the way through and feels solid. Looking forward to getting it all built up when the proof barrel arrives later this month.

Who did you order through mate?

I will also say that all the folks at WTO were awesome to deal with. I had them turn a turd of a howa in 30-06 into a great shooting 6.5-06. I wouldn't hesitate to take my next project to them.

This is a bit late, but I’ve had WTO do a bit of work for me. The first 6.5 SAUM they built back around 2013-2014 was for me, and that rifle was a hammer to say the least. I snagged a SwitchLug this morning for another build.

My switch lug out to 1066 is.....with factory ammo.....not totally set up with being able to spot for my self but I had shots 1-4 that could be covered with a 6” circle and 5-6 idk 5 gallon bucket size.....5-6 was still trying to figure out where exactly I was....kinda hard to see that by myself and was getting dark too lol
