A friend is looking to buy one for practice with less costly ammo then his Kimber .45ACP.
He asked and I have never looked into these so please let me know your thoughts.
He is leaning towards another Kimber if that matters.
Thank you PG

He was thinking of that but said (I didnt check) it was a lot lighter then the Kimber and liked the idea of the guns he shoots to be about the same weight if possible. Made sense to me too. Thank you for the report I didnt know the fine reputation of that sig. Thanks PG

Been running a Tactical Solution conversion on my Glock for more trigger time on metal and night vision practice. It's running really well, if their 1911 is as good, might be an option for you.

I have two of the Kimber kits and they run great with the Kimber magazines, other magazines not so much. The only downside to them is that they do not lock back when the mag is empty, otherwise a good option if you want to keep the 1911 platform.

I have a Marvel Unit II. Hovers around one inch @ 25 with bulk pack. Looking at a Nighthawk conversion (Marvel design). From their website:
Match Grade Accuracy: More testing is being done at this time and will be updated in the near future, but with specified ammunition, one-inch ten shot groups at 50 yards are guaranteed

Not bad for a conversion.

Try the umarex...it caries the colt markings on the slide...it is made in Germany by Walther.... have shot several brands of ammo through it with no problems... standard 1911 parts will work on the frame..... good price also.

Love my Marvel, Cant go wrong with it. 5 shot group test target from the factory shows .869@ 50 yds with eley ammo. Also shows how bad a shot I am compared to what its capable of.

P.S. Order it with an extra Mag, and fiber optic sights.
