When Hodgdon first came out with its "Extreme" powders, they published a chart showing .308 loads with 168-gr bullets. Varget, of course, was almost zero in temp/velocity change. I don't remember the range, either...30-90F or something?
Anyway, IMR 4064 was halfway between the 748 swings and Varget's. Can't remember if 4895 was in there, but there was one with less than 4064 but it was too slow for my gas gun.
My group sizes were always great with 43.0 748 and the 168s, for a gas gun. Iron sights, a bit less than 1 MOA at 200 benched. Thrown charges loaded on a Dillon, too.
I tried some weighed charges of 748 last week (same load) and the group sizes were 40% bigger. It *may* be a volume-sensitive rather than weight-sensitive powder.
