I’m trying to set my station pressure in my elite.

I understand that the ballistic portion disregards any changes by the user.

I use 4dof and other apps as well as the AB in my meter.

I try to set my baro and elevation, every time I set it my DA appears to be off my 1500-2000.

I get all my information from my airport, so either my airport is wrong or I’m doing something wrong.

I followed this with the same results..

Sync is off.

I dont have my Kestrel with me to look at settings, but I'll shoot from the hip here.. From your pictures it looks like your Kestrel is showing station pressure of 27.67 and a DA of 3654.. At what TEMP? KISN is showing a DA of 2744 @59F. The Kestrel will get warmer the longer you hold it in your hand. You may have checked that already, but I thought I'd throw it out there. If thats not it, there must a setting issue. Sorry thats all I got at the moment.

OK its very simple. Set your ref altitude on the BARO screen to ZERO. On the altitude screen the Ref pressure needs to be 29.92. now your DA screen will be correct. DO NOT CHANGE EITHER OF THESE SETTINGS. To be sure, you can restore defaults and it will be correct. IMPORTANT NOTE: The altitude shown in the altitude window will be WRONG in this configuration. ignore it, but it is essential that your ref is set to 29.92 in order for DA to be accurate.

59F at 27.67 and 36% humidity is a DA of 2732.

here is my info from my Kestrel:

from what i've read and understand, which may of course be very wrong, DA in Kestrel is unaffected by the elev and pressure settings you have entered or changed. Yes? No?

Don't confuse station pressure with what youre getting from the airport. Aviation weather broadcasts altimeter settings which is pressure corrected to sea level as a reference so that aircraft can "find the ground" accurately and not run into each other. Station pressure is the actual pressure where you are. As you go up in altitude pressure drops about 1" hg per thousand feet. So your station pressure of 27.67 would be be roughly around 2200' above sea level. Now, correct that for non standard temperature and you have DA.

Reset it,

After more digging I’m a idiot. I was setting the reference to what our local results were, well that’s wrong since the reference is sea level.

Got it working. Tested it inside with my weather station thingy, then tested it outside with my station.

DA changes appropriately. We’ve had strange weather and went from 400 DA to 4000 in a day.

North Dakota gives no f*cks.

I'm confused.

So I reset my Kestrel.

Now I want my shit to be right according to my location correct.

Wouldn't it make sense that I follow what Kestrel says to set station pressure at?

I understand that we really only care about the DA.

Just confuses me that we would let our other settings be off. But then again I don't know shit about BARO Pressure or the Pilot DA or whatever that I've been using..

Its all reset and set at the 29.92 so I guess i'll be fine.

AGAIN I want this to be correct for my 4DOF and other apps other than AB. I know AB tells the user to GTFO with their settings so I'm not really worried about that.

I sent you a PM. Call me. I swear it’s easier over voice.

Tacticaldillhole & Stpilot12 are 100% correct. Also my advice is once you've reset you're kestrel is leave it be because when your in AB mode your Kestrel accounts for all the current Environmentals to come up with its firing solution. If you are plugging your environmentals into another ballistic app I suggest using station pressure
