Didn’t see a thread like this so I figured I’d get one started.

With your Annealeez, what is your setting for a particular caliber and brass brand?

    Had some interesting results today.

All results are keeping the brass in until right before the flame color starts to change

Using the new Annealeez with the numerical speed controller, I Ended up at 57% with hornady 6.5cm brass. Now I remember when I got my Peterson 260 brass brand new after the first firing I ended up 40%. Today I wanted to double check and make sure that number was still accurate. I got down to 24% which ended up being around 8.75 seconds, before I dared not slow it down anymore. The brass never glowed, the flame never changed color. For shits and giggles I put a 6.5cm case in at the same speed and it was glowing and had a red flame for about 2 seconds.

I didn’t think there would be such a difference in the brass, and why would the annealing time change over time like that? Brass is now on firing #6 and has been annealed at 40% each time.

52% for 6.5 CM - Lapua brass. Verified with 750 degree Tempilaq inside the case mouth. The Tempilaq was melting right before the case dropped out of the flame.

I’ve got my flame way hotter than that and running slower. I need to get some of that temp paint. Just can’t bring myself to spend $30 for a small thing of it
Yep, I kinda felt the same, but after I thought about how much I've spent on all my reloading equipment $30 wasn't so much that I wouldn't make sure I was annealing correctly.
