Been trying to expand my horizons but got introduced the Islay scotchs through a Laphroaig 10 and have been loving just about all of them now.

My go to has been Lagavulin 16 for the nightly treat. Ardbeg, laphroaig, Bowmore are usualy when I'm running low on Lag or a friend would like some ...I dont give out the Lag easily. High west campfire has also been pretty good.

I tend to gravitate towards the very smokey flavored ones. Also nice I have a fairly good variety just down the street to test before committing.

You certainly have great taste in Scotch. I love Lagavulin 16, smoky peat to the max. Alas, right now I am sipping on a simple bourbon, Four Roses Single Barrel.

Putting a bit of this down tonight. Brought this bottle to NZ with me 4 months ago, and can't find it anywhere here. Gotta find a way back to the US soon....View attachment 7274231

Me too. Happily, I can get this at my local mart. I’ve got this, the basic 12-year old, and the 15-year old. Tried the 21-year old when I was in Ireland last summer - thankfully, I found I prefer the 12-year.

Storage wars wine! A buddy got a deal on a bunch of Italian wine from a storage building. I mean like a couple of hundred bottles of 20 to 150 dollars a bottle stuff at half of average price. Tonight's a Planeta Plumbago 2011.. the guy he got them from paid $100 for the storage room.

Decent rum. But they LIE! When you see the number on the bottle, your brain automatically thinks that's an age statement. But it is not!
Here's my "18":

Note that it does not say "18 years" or "18 years old" or anything that qualifies as an age statement (legalities and all that).

The fact is, it is a blended rum where the oldest of the blend is 18 years. Legally, when an age statement is given, the age listed must be the youngest juice in the blend.
