You're right, there isn't much info here on that particular model.

Not a problem Red, it happens to all of us

all the 2x's have been discontinued, but midway was blowing them out at like $202 (from $469) so that kinda piqued my interest

I have a hard time picking up the red dot in bright sunlight. It is almost impossible to see against hair at 75-100 yards in bright sunlight. the military modles are the best an i am switching over to those for subguns These have fully adjustable reticle from none(night vision) to dadgum brite!

I'm new to the forums but have used red dots for a while. Hunting wise, I've run a CompM2 on on a 16" FAL. Allows for nice quick shots but at the expense of magnification. Sounds like your 2x model addresses that a little but 2x isn't going to give you much help picking out targets in cover. On a 44 mag carbine, it should serve you well up to 100-150 yds.

Those would be nice and compact for a lever gun. I haven't used that model. But I can tell you Aimpoint has a good reputation and is known for long battery life. Heck if you have a tapped shotgun you could switch it over to that for Turkey season if you wanted. Honestly I think it's going to be difficult to find someone here or most sites utilizing this type of red dot, other than verifying Aimpoint quality.

I run the Comp ML3 on my carbine works great even on bright sunny days unmagnified out to 250 yds. I tried my buds 3x magnifier it works great even on bright sunny days although the magnifiers are pricey buggers. Again that's not this model.

That price got my attention when I saw the flyer, I just don't have the need for one or I'd be all over it.

Perhaps, a peep sight would serve your need, although you'd need to know something about using the sights properly, with consistent sight alignment.
